Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Logs two power-play helpers

Jarvis registered a pair of power-play assists and four shots on goal in Friday's 9-1 win over the Panthers.

Jarvis has two goals and four helpers over six games since he returned from a rib injury. The 23-year-old forward is up to 35 points, including seven on the power play, 130 shots on net, 56 hits and a plus-2 rating over 40 appearances. Jarvis has bounced around the lineup a bit recently, but he remains functionally in a top-six role thanks to his ice time in all situations.

Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Supplies two helpers in big win

Aho logged two power-play assists, two shots on goal and two hits in Friday's 9-1 win over the Panthers.

Aho has gone seven games without a goal but still has five helpers in that span. It's a cooldown after he logged 16 points in nine contests between Dec. 17 and Jan. 3. The star center is at 17 goals, 30 assists, 113 shots on net, 41 hits, 30 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 48 outings this season as a fixture on the Hurricanes' top line.

Robinson scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 9-1 win over the Panthers.

Robinson had been limited to two assists and 12 shots on net over his last 10 outings. The 30-year-old winger has proven his versatility again this season, but he's mostly played in a bottom-six role with no power-play time. He's now at 10 goals, 15 points, 57 shots on net, 59 hits and a plus-7 rating across 42 appearances.

  • Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Earns two points Friday

Nikishin scored a power-play goal on three shots, dished an assist, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Friday's 9-1 win over the Panthers.

Nikishin is up to two goals and four assists over nine outings in January. The defenseman could be in line for extra power-play time while Shayne Gostisbehere (lower body) works his way back to health. Nikishin has six goals, 20 points, 72 shots on net, 87 hits, 57 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating over 47 appearances this season.

  • Rangers' Spencer Martin: Tending twine Saturday

Martin will defend the road net against Philadelphia on Saturday, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

After two relief appearances in the last three games, Martin will make his first NHL start of the season. He has allowed five goals on 26 shots in his previous two outings this campaign. During Igor Shesterkin's (lower body) absence, Jonathan Quick has struggled while filling in as the team's No. 1 netminder. Philadelphia ranks 22nd in the league with 2.89 goals per game this season.

  • Flames' William Stromgren: Demoted to AHL

Stromgren was reassigned to AHL Calgary on Saturday.

  • Zayne Parekh D | CGY

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Sent to AHL for conditioning

Parekh (upper body) was assigned to AHL on Calgary on Saturday for a conditioning loan.

Parekh has missed the last four games due to an injury, but it appears as though he is ready to test the issue with some playing time in the minors. He has registered one assist, 11 shots on goal, five blocked shots and five hits in 11 NHL appearances this season.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Starting Saturday

Luukkonen will guard the home cage versus Minnesota on Saturday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

Luukkonen will look for his fourth straight win against a depleted Wild lineup that is missing its entire second line of Matt Boldy (undisclosed), Marcus Johansson (lower body) and Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body). Luukkonen is 10-6-1 with a 2.59 GAA and a .904 save percentage over 17 starts this season. Minnesota sits 17th in the league with 3.06 goals per game in 2025-26.
