  • Canadiens' Joe Veleno: Set to play Thursday

Veleno (illness) is set to play Thursday against Tampa Bay, per J-F Chaumont of NHL.com.

Veleno has two goals, four points, 17 PIM and 149 hits in 58 outings with Montreal in 2025-26. After missing Tuesday's game against Florida, Veleno is projected to serve on the fourth line alongside Jake Evans and Josh Anderson.

  • Noah Ostlund C | BUF

Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Still sidelined Thursday

Ostlund (lower body) won't play Thursday versus the Blue Jackets, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

Ostlund is set to miss his eighth consecutive game. He has two more chances to return in the regular season, as the Sabres face the Blackhawks on Monday and the Stars on Wednesday.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Expected to rest Thursday

Svechnikov is slated to be a healthy scratch Thursday versus Chicago, per Adam Gold of The Adam Gold Show.

Carolina has already secured the top seed in the Metropolitan Division, so the Hurricanes have decided to rest some key players ahead of the postseason. Svechnikov has 30 goals and 69 points in 78 outings in 2025-26. Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho are also projected to be healthy scratches Thursday.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Cycling out of lineup

Jarvis will be rested for Thursday's game versus the Blackhawks, Adam Gold of The Adam Gold Show reports.

The Hurricanes' top line looks to have first dibs on getting rested, as Gold reports all of Jarvis, Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov will sit Thursday. It's unclear how many games off Jarvis will receive over the last four contests of the regular season.

  • Sebastian Aho LW | CAR

    Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Resting Thursday

Aho won't be in the lineup versus the Blackhawks on Thursday, Adam Gold of The Adam Gold Show reports.

The Hurricanes seem uninterested in pushing too hard for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, so they'll start resting their stars with four games left on the regular-season schedule. Aho had not missed a game prior to Thursday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Slated to face Chicago

Andersen is expected to start on the road against Chicago on Thursday, per Adam Gold of The Adam Gold Show.

Andersen will attempt to bounce back after allowing five goals on 30 shots en route to a 6-3 loss to Ottawa in his last start Sunday. He has a 14-14-5 record, 3.15 GAA and .870 save percentage in 33 appearances this season. Chicago is 7-14-7 while averaging just 2.25 goals per game across its past 28 matches.

  • Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Not in lineup Thursday

Chatfield (lower body) won't play Thursday versus the Blackhawks, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Chatfield is less than 100 percent, so he'll be out of the lineup. The Hurricanes have Mike Reilly and Charles-Alexis Legault on hand to fill in, and both of them are likely to play as the team pivots to resting players ahead of the postseason.

  • Shane Wright C | SEA

Kraken's Shane Wright: Not expected to play Thursday

Wright (upper body) isn't expected to play Thursday against Vegas.

Wright hasn't been in the lineup since March 28 because of the injury. He has 11 goals and 26 points in 72 appearances in 2025-26, which is a big step down from 2024-25 when he recorded 19 goals and 44 points in 79 regular-season outings. The 22-year-old might serve in a middle-six capacity once he's ready to return.

  • Wild's Zach Bogosian: Not traveling with team

Bogosian (lower body) will miss Thursday's game in Dallas and isn't traveling with the Wild.

Bogosian will probably also be absent from Saturday's tilt in Nashville and Monday's clash in St. Louis. The Wild will return home for their regular-season finale Tuesday versus Anaheim, which might be an opportunity for Bogosian to get into a game before the playoffs. The 35-year-old defenseman has two goals, six points, 18 PIM, 47 hits and 37 blocks in 41 outings in 2025-26.

  • Lightning's Brandon Hagel: Not ready to return

Hagel (lower body) isn't ready to return Thursday versus Montreal, but head coach Jon Cooper hopes to have him back before the end of the regular season, per Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times.

Hagel hasn't been in the lineup since March 31. He has 35 goals and 73 points in 69 outings in 2025-26. Gage Goncalves is serving in an increased role during Hagel's absence.
