  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Solid play has team in wild card

Ullmark made 28 saves in a 6-2 win over the Lightning on Tuesday.

The game was tight into the midpoint of the third when the Sens broke it open. Ullmark has won two straight and three in his last four games. He has allowed just six goals in those three wins. Ullmark has taken a lot of heat for poor play this season, but he's gone 12-4-3 in 19 games since his return from a month-long personal leave from Dec. 28 to Jan. 25. Ullmark's save percentage this season (.887) is below the league average (.896), but his 2.82 GAA is actually better than the league average (2.88). Ottawa is now two points ahead of the Blue Jackets for the second playoff wild card from the Eastern Conference.

  • Tim Stutzle LW | OTT

Senators' Tim Stutzle: Three-game, six-point steak

Stutzle had a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 6-2 victory over the Lightning.

Stutzle's goal came on a third-period power play to push the lead to 4-2. He has six points, including two goals, on his current three-game point streak and 82 points (34 goals, 48 assists) in 78 games. Stutzle is in a four-way tie with Jack Eichel, Alex DeBrincat and Wyatt Johnston for 17th in league scoring.

  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: First multi-goal game in NHL

Sanderson scored twice Tuesday in a 6-2 win over Tampa Bay.

It was Sanderson's first multi-goal game in the NHL, and he set a new career high for goals in a single regular season with 13. His first goal stood as the winner; his second came on the power play to make the score 5-2. Sanderson returned April 4 after missing 13 games due to an upper-body injury. He has two goals, one assist and seven shots in those three games since his return. Overall, Sanderson has 51 points in 65 games this season.

  • Brady Tkachuk LW | OTT

Senators' Brady Tkachuk: Another four-point effort

Tkachuk delivered four assists Tuesday in a 6-2 win over the Lightning.

Tkachuk became the fourth Sens player in the past 10 years with multiple four-point games in a single season. He has two this year. The others? Tim Stutzle (twice; most: three games in 2022-23), Batherson (three games in 2021-22) and Erik Karlsson (two games in 2015-16). Tkachuk has six points (two goals) in his last two games (eight shots) and 58 (22 goals, 36 assists) in 58 games this season.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Game closer than score indicates

Johansson made 25 saves in a 6-2 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. He allowed five goals.

The game was tight well into the third -- the score was just 3-2 at the midpoint of the frame, and then the Sens took charge. The Bolts challenged a Tim Stutzle goal for goalie interference, but it was upheld, and then the Sens capitalized on the ensuing power play to push the game to 5-2. Johansson could get more playing time before season's end in order to give Andrei Vasilevskiy a rest prior to the postseason. In theory, the Bolts are good enough to win with Johansson in net, so consider him for spot starts.

  • Corey Perry RW | TB

Lightning's Corey Perry: Two-point effort in loss

Perry scored a goal and added an assist Tuesday in a 6-2 loss to the Senators.

Perry beat Linus Ullmark high blocker at the mid-point of the third period to cut the deficit to 3-2. It was his first multi-point game since Jan. 31. Perry has five points (three goals, two assists) and 12 shots in his last eight games. The winger turns 41 in May, in the middle of what he and the Bolts hope is a long playoff run. Perry has been chasing another Stanley Cup since 2005-06, when he won it with the Ducks.

  • Nick Paul C | TB

Lightning's Nick Paul: Steps up in teammate's absence

Paul scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-2 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. He fired two shots, added two hits and won seven faceoffs.

Paul stepped up with Anthony Cirelli nicked up due to an undisclosed injury. The goal was Paul's first since Feb. 1 (13 games; one assist). Paul has struggled with injuries this season and has played in just 47 contests. He has seven goals, eight assists, 62 shots, 70 hits and 278 faceoff wins (54.5 percent) this season.

  • Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: So close to regulation win

Tarasov made 29 saves in a 4-3 shootout loss to Montreal on Tuesday .

He came within 21 seconds of regulation win, but Ivan Demidov pulled Tarasov way out of position with a sick move before nicking the puck back out to Nick Suzuki, who scored into an empty net. It was Tarasov's second straight start; he has allowed eight goals in two losses, one in a shootout.

  • Panthers' Eetu Luostarinen: Second-best offensive season

Luostarinen scored in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to Montreal.

He redirected a point shot in the third to put the Panthers up 3-2. Luostarinen has 10 goals, 18 assists, 102 shots and 118 hits in 69 games this season. That's his best offensive output since his career mark of 43 points set in the 2022-23 regular season. The points-hits combo can make Luostarinen a fantasy fit in the bottom forward roster spot in deep leagues.

  • Cole Reinhardt LW | FLA

Panthers' Cole Reinhardt: Goal earns praises of head coach

Reinhardt scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Canadiens.

Reinhardt drove the net and banked the puck in off the left pad of a sprawling Jakub Dobes to give the kitties a 2-1 lead in the second period. He also earned the praises of head coach Paul Maurice for his performance. "He's adapted his game to the way we want to play," Maurice said. "And it does suit him. He can get there, he can get on the body, and he's found his way to the back of the net a couple of times. So, good for him." Reinhardt has a goal and an assist in his last two games (four shots) and 10 points (five goals, five assists) in 56 games combined this season (Vegas and Florida).
