Devils' Jack Hughes: Four-point burst in win

Hughes scored twice on eight shots, added two assists and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Hughes' first assist came on the power play. The 24-year-old clutched up late in the game, scoring the go-ahead tally at 14:51 of the third period before adding the empty-netter to seal the deal. He has multiple points in eight of 13 contests in March, racking up 10 goals and 14 helpers this month. For the season, the 24-year-old center is up to 22 tallies, 63 points (21 on the power play), 190 shots on net and a minus-2 rating over 52 appearances. Aside from another year disrupted by injuries, Hughes has been just about all fantasy managers could ask for.

  • Jake Allen G | NJ

Devils' Jake Allen: Picks up win Sunday

Allen stopped 28 of 31 shots in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Allen has allowed 12 goals over his last four outings, but his best performance in that span was his one loss. With the Devils all but officially out of the playoff race, Allen has started to get a bit more playing time to avoid overworking Jacob Markstrom. For the season, Allen is up to 15-16-1 with a 2.69 GAA and a .905 save percentage over 33 appearances, numbers nearly identical to what he did in 2024-25. He's a solid backup and could be worth a look in fantasy when he gets favorable matchups. The Devils' next game is just that as they visit the Rangers on Tuesday, though it will likely be Markstrom between the pipes for that one.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Opens scoring on power play

Svechnikov scored a power-play goal on four shots, added two PIM and doled out three hits in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Canadiens.

Svechnikov's tally at 8:37 of the first period opened the scoring, but it was the only one of the Hurricanes' 35 shots to hit the back of the net. The 26-year-old winger had been limited to two power-play assists over his previous five outings. Svechnikov is up to 26 goals, 62 points (25 on the power play), 185 shots on net, 132 hits, 58 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 73 appearances. This is his third regular season with at least 60 points, though he would need a surge to match his career-best 69 from 78 regular-season outings in 2021-22.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Falls to Canadiens

Andersen stopped 15 of 18 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Canadiens.

Andersen gave up all three goals in the second period and didn't get enough help to overcome that bad frame. The 36-year-old has lost his last two outings, giving up seven goals on 36 shots in that span to follow a five-game winning streak. Andersen and Brandon Bussi are nearly splitting the crease evenly now, and behind the Hurricanes' sturdy defense, both goalies are in good position to rack up wins. On the year, Andersen has gone 13-13-5 with a 3.16 GAA and an .871 save percentage. The Hurricanes face the Blue Jackets for a home-and-home over the next two games, beginning in Columbus on Tuesday.

  • Arber Xhekaj D | MON

Canadiens' Arber Xhekaj: Draws in Sunday

Xhekaj logged five hits in 5:11 of ice time in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Absences for Alexandre Texier (lower body), Josh Anderson (illness) and Kirby Dach (upper body) have left the Canadiens' forward group thin. On the second half of a back-to-back, they opted to dress Xhekaj as a seventh defenseman for his first appearance since March 15 versus the Ducks. Xhekaj's playing time is trending down while Jayden Struble appears to have locked down a third-pairing spot during the Canadiens' playoff push. Xhekaj is scoreless in his last 28 contests, racking up 94 hits and 53 PIM in that span. Overall, he has two points, 36 shots on net, 108 PIM, 154 hits and a minus-6 rating over 56 appearances this season.

  • Lane Hutson D | MON

Canadiens' Lane Hutson: Registers pair of assists in win

Hutson logged two assists, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Hutson has earned four helpers over his last four games. He's gone 11 games without a power-play point, but he has nine assists and a plus-6 rating in that span, showing he can contribute at a high level at even strength. Hutson is up to 73 points (11 goals, 62 assists), 119 shots on net, 121 blocked shots and a plus-32 rating through 73 appearances on the year.

  • Cole Caufield RW | MON

Canadiens' Cole Caufield: One of each in Sunday's win

Caufield scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Caufield and Nick Suzuki set each other up for the Canadiens' first two goals. Caufield's tally was the game-winner, his 10th such goal this season among the career-high 46 he's potted. He's added 33 assists, 220 shots on net, 48 hits and a plus-26 rating over 72 appearances in a career year on Montreal's top line and first power-play unit.

  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Secures career year Sunday

Suzuki scored twice on five shots, dished an assist, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Suzuki had gone five games without a goal, though he still had eight assists in that span. He had the first and third goals in the Canadiens' second-period rally, and he set up Cole Caufield on the middle goal, which was the game-winner. Suzuki has crossed the 90-point mark for the first time in his career -- he's now at 26 goals, 65 helpers, 40 power-play points, 164 shots on net, 56 hits, 58 blocked shots, 26 PIM and a plus-32 rating over 73 appearances. With nine games left on Montreal's regular-season slate, Suzuki is in position to take a run at a 100-point campaign.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Strong in Sunday's win

Dobes stopped 34 of 35 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Dobes collected his third straight win with this effort. He limited the Hurricanes to an Andrei Svechnikov power-play tally in the first period, which the Canadiens answered with three goals in the middle frame. Dobes has won six of nine outings in March, allowing two goals or fewer in six of those games. For the season, the 24-year-old netminder is up to 25-8-4 with a 2.78 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 37 appearances. His ability to get wins has helped him secure the No. 1 job in goal. The Canadiens' next game is on the road versus the Lightning on Tuesday.

  • Ben Jones C | MIN

Wild's Ben Jones: Pots pair of goals

Jones scored twice in AHL Iowa's 4-3 shootout loss to Rockford on Sunday.

Jones is up to 10 goals and 23 points over 28 outings this season. He's racked up seven points over his last seven contests. The 27-year-old also has two points in 26 games for the Wild this year, but Jones is likely to stay in the AHL as long as the big club remains healthy.
