  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting Friday

Oettinger will defend the home cage versus Colorado on Friday, per Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine.

Oettinger has won eight straight games despite allowing 21 goals on 173 shots (.879 save percentage). Overall, he is 25-10-4 with a 2.67 GAA and an .898 save percentage across 39 starts. The Avalanche are six points ahead of Dallas in the Central Division standings with a game in hand, so this is an important contest for the Stars if they have any aspirations to win the Western Conference.

  • Tyler Myers D | DAL

Stars' Tyler Myers: Won't play Friday

Myers (not injury related) will not be in the lineup to face the Avalanche on Friday, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports.

Myers is expected to be in action when the Stars play the Blackhawks on Sunday. The blueliner is mired in a 21-game pointless streak during which he recorded 34 shots, 22 hits and 21 blocks while averaging 19:40 of ice time. Once ready to make his Dallas debut, Myers should slot into a top-four pairing for his new club.

  • Ty Mueller C | VAN

Canucks' Ty Mueller: Summoned from AHL

Mueller was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Friday, Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK reports.

Mueller is tied for the Abbotsford lead in points with 28 in 49 games this season. The 23-year-old played a pair of games with the Canucks last season, but has yet to appear in an NHL game this year.

  • Nicolas Roy C | COL

Avalanche's Nicolas Roy: Status uncertain for Friday's game

The Avalanche hope to have Roy meet them in Dallas ahead of Friday's game against the Stars, but his status is in question due to his immigration paperwork, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.

Roy was traded to the Avalanche from the Maple Leafs on Thursday in exchange for a 2027 conditional first-round pick and a 2026 conditional fifth-round pick, but it's unclear whether he'll be able to make his team debut a day later. Roy made 59 appearances for Toronto to begin the year, recording five goals, 15 assists, 61 hits, 32 blocked shots and 10 PIM while averaging 14:45 of ice time.

  • Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Contract extension

Nedeljkovic signed a two-year, $6 million contract extension with the Sharks on Friday.

Nedeljkovic will back up Yaroslav Askarov for the next two seasons, barring any injuries or prolonged slumps for Askarov. Nedeljkovic is 11-9-2 with a 2.83 GAA and a .902 save percentage across 26 appearances in 2025-26.

  • Flyers' David Jiricek: Heading to Philadelphia

Jiricek was traded to the Flyers from the Wild on Friday in exchange for Bobby Brink, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Jiricek was the sixth overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, but he was traded to the Wild from the Blue Jackets in November of 2024 and will be on the move for a second consecutive season. He's made 25 appearances with Minnesota this year, being held without a point while recording 19 blocked shots, 14 PIM and eight hits while averaging 11:43 of ice time. He was sent to AHL Iowa on Thursday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him join the NHL club in Philadelphia at some point, especially if the Flyers trade away some of their other contributors.

  • Bobby Brink RW | MIN

Wild's Bobby Brink: Dealt to Minnesota

Brink was traded to Minnesota from Philadelphia in exchange for David Jiricek on Friday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Brink could be rejuvenated heading home to Minnesota. He had 13 goals and 13 assists in 55 games this season with the Flyers before the trade and should slot in on the right side, behind Mats Zuccarello and Matt Boldy on the depth chart.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Patrolling crease Friday

Gibson will be in goal at home against the Panthers on Friday, Kevin Allen of Detroit Hockey Now reports.

Gibson started 2026 on a hot streak but has cooled off of late, going 3-3-1 with a 2.14 GAA in his last eight outings. Despite the lack of wins over that stretch, the 32-year-old backstop should continue to see the bulk of the workload for the Red Wings and could push for the 30-win mark.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Gets little help in loss

Silovs stopped 21 of 25 shots in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Sabres, with Buffalo's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

After the two teams traded shorthanded goals in the first period, Silovs was hung out to dry by his teammates as the Sabres broke the game open in the second. The 24-year-old netminder saw his three-start win streak come to an end, and it was the first time he's allowed more than three goals in an outing since Jan. 4. On the season, Silovs is 13-8-8 with a 2.80 GAA and .898 save percentage.

  • Owen Power D | BUF

Sabres' Owen Power: Two-point effort Thursday

Power produced an even-strength goal and a shorthanded assist in Thursday's 5-1 win over Pittsburgh.

Both points came in the second period as the Sabres broke open a 1-1 tie. Power has gotten onto the scoresheet in three straight games, and on the season he's delivered six goals, 21 points, 97 shots on net, 68 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating in 61 contests.
