Jakub Dobes G | MON
Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Drawing start in San Jose
Dobes will guard the road cage against the Sharks on Tuesday, per Eric Engels of Sportsnet.
Dobes had a solid showing in his first start following the Olympic break, stopping 27 of 29 shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Capitals. The 24-year-old hasn't lost in regulation since Dec. 9 -- he's 9-0-2 with a 2.59 GAA and a .902 save percentage since then. The Sharks are 2-1-0 and have scored eight goals since the NHL resumed play last week.

Joseph Veleno C | MON
Canadiens' Joe Veleno: Remains unavailable
Veleno (illness) will not be in the lineup against the Sharks on Tuesday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
Veleno has been a healthy scratch in five of the Habs' last eight outings, so it's not immediately clear if he is still under the weather or if he is just being left out of the lineup. Even when he does play, the forward hasn't offered much in the way of fantasy value, considering he has zero goals and one assist in his last 22 outings.

Matt Kiersted D | MIN
Wild's Matt Kiersted: Dropped to AHL
Kiersted was assigned to AHL Iowa on Tuesday.
Minnesota activated Jonas Brodin (lower body) in a corresponding move. Kiersted has one assist, four shots on goal and five blocked shots in four NHL outings this season. He also has one goal and seven points in 33 AHL appearances during the 2025-26 campaign.

Spencer Knight G | CHI
Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Tending twine Tuesday
Knight will guard the cage on the road versus the Jets on Tuesday, per The Hockey News.
Knight is currently riding a three-game losing streak despite having posted a 2.73 GAA over that stretch. While victories figure to be hard to come by for the backstop, given his supporting cast, he should still be capable of reaching the 20-win mark for the first time in his career.

Roope Hintz LW | DAL
Stars' Roope Hintz: Not playing in Calgary
Hintz (illness) will not suit up for Tuesday's road matchup against the Flames, according to Robert Tiffin of D Magazine.
Hintz will miss his fourth straight game Tuesday as he continues to recover from his illness. The Finnish center will now have a few days to work his way back to getting in the lineup ahead of Friday's home divisional matchup versus Colorado. Wyatt Johnston and Matt Duchene will continue to operate as the Stars' top-two centers while Hintz is sidelined.

Cole Reschny C | CGY
Flames' Cole Reschny: Named NCHC Rookie of the Week
Reschny was named the NCHC's Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Reschny picked up three points over two games for the University of North Dakota versus Western Michigan University over the weekend. For the season, Reschny has 31 points in 30 games as a freshman. The Flames prospect has adjusted well to the NCAA, though it's not yet clear if he'll be one-and-done in college hockey.

Troy Terry RW | ANA
Ducks' Troy Terry: Making progress in recovery
Terry is still working his way back from an upper-body injury and will not be in the lineup for Tuesday's home matchup against Colorado, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports.
Terry will remain sidelined for a third straight contest, and he has appeared in just three of the Ducks' last 16 games. It remains to be seen if the 28-year-old will be available for the second half of the team's back-to-back against the Islanders on Wednesday, but he shouldn't be counted on being an option for that matchup at this point.

Mikael Granlund C | ANA
Ducks' Mikael Granlund: Not playing Tuesday
Granlund (upper body) won't play against Colorado on Tuesday, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports.
Granlund is feeling better after skating before Tuesday's practice, but he will miss his fourth straight game. He has accounted for 12 goals, 27 points and 78 shots on net through 38 appearances this season.

Yaroslav Askarov G | SJ
Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Set to face Montreal
Askarov was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, according to Max Miller of NHL.com, indicating he will patrol the home crease against the Canadiens on Tuesday.
Askarov is coming off a 20-save effort in Saturday's 5-4 win over Edmonton. He has gone 18-16-2 this campaign with a 3.53 GAA and an .887 save percentage across 37 appearances. Montreal sits fourth in the league with 3.49 goals per game this season.

Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Tending twine at home
Dostal will occupy the home net against the Avalanche on Tuesday, according to Derek Lee of The Hockey News.
Dostal has won five straight games, though he's had a few shaky performances during that run of success, having allowed at least three goals on three occasions during his winning streak. The Czech netminder has lost just once in his last 12 appearances, a stretch in which he has posted a 2.35 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Colorado is on the second half of a back-to-back, while the Ducks last played Sunday.
