  • Oilers' Kasperi Kapanen: Game-time decision Saturday

Kapanen (undisclosed) was deemed a game-time decision for Saturday's road matchup in San Jose.

After missing each of Edmonton's first two games out of the Olympic break, Kapanen has a shot to return to the Oilers' lineup in Saturday's contest. The 29-year-old forward has dealt with multiple injuries throughout the regular season, which have kept him out of the lineup for all but 19 games. However, when he has been healthy, Kapanen has been a strong secondary scoring option, with five goals and 12 points. If he suits up Saturday, the veteran winger will probably occupy a bottom-six role.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Set to face Red Wings

Andersen will patrol the home crease against Detroit on Saturday, per Peter Dewar and Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Andersen has gone 0-0-2 in his past two outings for the Hurricanes while surrendering seven goals on 64 shots. He has a 7-10-5 record this campaign with a 3.26 GAA and an .871 save percentage through 22 appearances. Detroit ranks 20th in the league with 2.95 goals per game during the 2025-26 season.

  • Alec Regula D | EDM

Oilers' Alec Regula: Finishes conditioning stint

Regula has completed his conditioning stint with AHL Bakersfield and is back with the Oilers, the team announced Saturday.

Regula has been with Bakersfield since Feb. 18. He has a goal and three points in three outings with the AHL squad as well as three assists across 29 appearances with Edmonton this season. Regula is frequently a healthy scratch with the Oilers, so his stint in the minors was an opportunity for him to get into some games.

  • Ryan Strome C | CGY

Ducks' Ryan Strome: Dealing with illness

Strome (illness) didn't participate in Saturday's practice, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports.

Strome also sat out Friday's 5-4 overtime win over Winnipeg because he was under the weather. He has produced three goals, eight points, 35 shots on net and 16 hits across 32 appearances this season. Once he has recovered from his illness, Strome could still be a candidate to be a healthy scratch.

  • Angus Booth D | LA

Kings' Angus Booth: Called up to NHL

Booth was recalled from AHL Ontario on Saturday.

With the Kings placing Andrei Kuzmenko (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, Booth was summoned to Los Angeles in the corresponding move. Across 42 games with Ontario this season, the 21-year-old blueliner has nine assists, 10 points, a plus-one rating and 29 shots on goal. Booth will have a chance to make his NHL debut with the Kings if he can work his way into one of the top three pairings or if Drew Doughty (lower body) misses time.

  • Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Undergoes knee surgery

Kuzmenko underwent knee surgery for a torn meniscus and is on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.

Kuzmenko is regarded as week-to-week, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's out for quite a while. The 30-year-old has 13 goals and 25 points in 52 outings in 2025-26. The Kings recalled defenseman Angus Booth from AHL Ontario to fill the roster spot created by putting Kuzmenko on IR.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Tending twine Saturday

Askarov will patrol the home crease in Saturday's clash with Edmonton, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.

Askarov will get the nod for his second start since the Olympic break, and his fourth in a row dating back to the beginning of February. He has gone winless over his last four outings with an .874 save percentage, which is marginally lower than his season average. Across 36 appearances this campaign, the 23-year-old netminder has a 17-16-2 record, a 3.52 GAA and an .888 save percentage. He'll have a tough task in net Saturday against an Edmonton team that ranks third in the NHL with 3.52 goals per game in 2025-26.

  • Sharks' Shakir Mukhamadullin: Playing Saturday

Mukhamadullin (personal) will be in the lineup against Edmonton on Saturday, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.

Mukhamadullin was a healthy scratch against Calgary on Thursday and missed Friday's practice for personal reasons. He has three goals and four assists over 26 games this season. Mukhamadullin will replace Timothy Liljegren in Saturday's lineup.

  • Golden Knights' Braeden Bowman: Scores in Friday's loss

Bowman scored a goal and added two PIM in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals.

Bowman has come out of the break hot with three points over his last two games. The 22-year-old rookie is up to eight goals, 23 points, 56 shots on net and a minus-11 rating through 43 appearances. He's getting third-line minutes for now, but injuries or a poor stretch of team play could see him get shuffled up to the top six at some point.

  • Tomas Hertl C | LV

Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Nets power-play goal

Hertl scored a power-play goal on three shots and added three hits in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals.

Hertl earned his 600th career point in his 850th regular-season contest. The center has two goals and five assists over his last nine outings, continuing to be an effective scoring option in a middle-six role. Overall, he has 23 goals, 51 points (22 on the power play), 151 shots on net, 81 hits, 31 blocked shots, 35 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 59 appearances this campaign.
