Mikko Rantanen RW | DAL
Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Expected to miss time
Rantanen is expected to miss time after sustaining a lower-body injury at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Robert Tiffin of D Magazine reports Sunday.
Rantanen suffered a lower-body injury late in Finland's semifinal loss to Canada on Friday, and he was unavailable for Saturday's bronze medal game against Slovakia. The issue is expected to cost him time once the NHL season resumes, but it isn't believed to be season-ending. Over 54 appearances for the Stars this year, Rantanen has recorded 20 goals, 49 assists, 87 PIM, 38 hits and 27 blocked shots while averaging 20:12 of ice time.

Tyler Hopkins C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Tyler Hopkins: Erupts for four goals, assist
Hopkins scored four goals and added an assist in OHL Guelph's 8-5 win over Saginaw on Sunday.
Hopkins has been under a point-per-game pace for both Guelph and Kingston this season. He moved to the Storm in a Dec. 28 trade from the Frontenacs. Overall, Hopkins is at 21 goals, 45 points and a minus-1 rating over 51 appearances, so this kind of burst of offense isn't likely to be a common occurrence for the 19-year-old.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel RW | MIN
Wild's Nicolas Aube-Kubel: Collects three points in AHL win
Aube-Kubel scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Iowa's 5-1 win over Manitoba on Sunday.
Aube-Kubel has logged two goals and five assists over his last six outings. The veteran forward is up to 25 points in 41 AHL contests this season. Aube-Kubel has added one assist in four NHL games this season, but the 29-year-old is unlikely to see significant time with the Wild down the stretch.

Tyler Pitlick C | MIN
Wild's Tyler Pitlick: Scores twice for Iowa
Pitlick scored two goals in AHL Iowa's 5-1 win over Manitoba on Sunday.
Pitlick has five goals and two assists over five outings with Iowa during the NHL's Olympic break. The veteran forward spent nearly three months with the big club prior to the break, and it's possible he returns to Minnesota as a depth option when the team resumes play Thursday versus the Avalanche. Pitlick is at 11 points in 10 AHL appearances.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Secures AHL shutout
Murashov posted a 25-save shutout in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-0 win over Bridgeport on Sunday.

Boris Katchouk LW | PHI
Wild's Boris Katchouk: Back down with Iowa
Katchouk has been reassigned to AHL Iowa by the Wild, the team announced Sunday.
Katchouk was brought up to help the Wild fill out practice while they await the return of all of the players from Milan. Since being acquired by the Wild in a minor-league trade in late December from the Lightning, he has recorded one goal and one assist in five games with Iowa.

Ben Gleason D | MIN
Wild's Benjamin Gleason: Sent back to AHL
Gleason was assigned to AHL Iowa on Sunday.
Gleason has one goal and 16 assists in 44 minor-league appearances this campaign. He hasn't seen any NHL action since he appeared in four games with Dallas during the 2018-19 regular season.

Kasperi Kapanen RW | EDM
Oilers' Kasperi Kapanen: Out next two games
Kapanen (undisclosed) is expected to miss the first two games out of the Olympic break, Oilers TV reporter Paige Martin reports Sunday.
The Oilers open up the post-Olympic break schedule with a back-to-back set against the Ducks and Kings on Wednesday and Thursday. Kapanen scored a goal in back-to-back games prior to the break, so it's a bit surprising he's been ruled out coming out of the break. The 29-year-old has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 19 games played this season. His next chance to suit up will come Saturday in San Jose.

Jordan Binnington G | STL
Blues' Jordan Binnington: Heartbreaking OT loss against USA
Binnington stopped 26 shots in Canada's 2-1 overtime loss to the USA in the Olympic men's hockey gold medal game Sunday.
Matt Boldy snuck a puck past Binnington early in the first period, but the Blues netminder shut the door for the rest of regulation and gave Canada every chance to win the game before it got to OT, when Jack Hughes beat him glove side for the Golden Goal. Binnington came up big for his country once again in international play, and he'll try to carry that momentum back with him to a St. Louis squad that sits at the bottom of the Central Division.
