  • Ty Murchison D | PHI

Flyers' Ty Murchison: Done for season

Murchison underwent surgery for an upper-body injury and is expected to miss the rest of the season, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Tuesday.

Murchison had six points in 29 AHL outings and went scoreless in three NHL games. The defenseman was playing in his first full professional season, and it's not yet clear if he'll be healthy for training camp. Given the missed development time, Murchison is likely to start 2026-27 in the AHL.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Moves to LTIR

Point (lower body) was transferred to long-term injured reserve Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Point last played Jan. 12 versus the Flyers. He is required to be out for 10 games and 24 days. He will complete the first requirement Tuesday versus the Sabres, but he's already been ruled out for the Lightning up to the Olympic break. Point is still a possibility to play for Team Canada at the Olympics, though it remains what the national team is planning to do in regards to his status.

  • Sabres' Jordan Greenway: Remains out Tuesday

Greenway (abdomen) won't play Tuesday versus the Lightning, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

Greenway will miss his sixth straight game. The 29-year-old forward is recovering from a core issue that has flared up again after his sports hernia surgeries last year. At this point, it wouldn't be surprising if Greenway was held out Thursday versus the Penguins as well to let him rest through the Olympic break.

  • Colten Ellis G | BUF

    Sabres' Colten Ellis: Facing Lightning

Ellis will protect the road net against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

Ellis will get the second half of Buffalo's back-to-back after Alex Lyon played in Monday's 5-3 win over Florida. The 25-year-old Ellis has a 7-4-0 record with a 3.05 GAA and an .898 save percentage through 12 appearances this campaign. Tampa Bay ranks second in the league during the 2025-26 season with 3.49 goals per game.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Facing Sabres

Vasilevskiy will guard the home goal versus the Sabres on Tuesday, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports.

Vasilevskiy has won 14 of his last 15 starts, posting a 1.89 GAA and a .922 save percentage. His most recent win was a little shaky, as he allowed five goals on 34 shots during the Stadium Series versus the Bruins on Sunday. Vasilevskiy will have a tough task Tuesday, as the Sabres are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games.

  • Dante Fabbro D | CLB

Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Slated to play

Fabbro (lower body) is participating in warmups as expected, indicating he'll play Tuesday versus the Devils, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.

Fabbro was officially considered a game-time decision, but he was trending toward a return in recent practices. The blueliner will play on the third pairing for this contest. Fabbro had just one goal in the 16 contests before his six-game absence, so he won't be a great source of offense.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Gets starting nod Tuesday

Bussi will start Tuesday's home clash with the Senators, per Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.

Bussi will draw his second consecutive start Tuesday after leading the team onto the ice for warmups. He has won each of his last five starts and has been exceptional in that span with a .917 save percentage and a 1.80 GAA. Overall, the 27-year-old netminder has a 21-3-1 record, a 2.21 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 25 appearances this season. He'll look to continue his strong 2025-26 campaign in a matchup against a strong Ottawa offense that ranks ninth in the NHL with 3.33 goals per game.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Tending twine Tuesday

Markstrom will patrol the home crease against Columbus on Tuesday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Markstrom is coming off a 27-save performance in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Nashville. He has a 15-12-1 record this campaign with a 3.24 GAA and an .881 save percentage through 29 appearances. Columbus is tied for 17th in the league with 3.09 goals per game this season.

  • James Reimer G | OTT

Senators' James Reimer: Starting versus Hurricanes

Reimer will protect the road goal versus the Hurricanes on Tuesday, Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News reports.

Reimer has gone 2-2-1 over his first five outings with the Senators. His most recent game was a 5-2 win over the Avalanche on Wednesday, though he faced just 18 shots. Reimer lost to the Hurricanes in his start before that, giving up four goals on 19 shots, so this is likely to be a challenging matchup for him.

  • Zach Benson LW | BUF

Sabres' Zach Benson: Will miss Tuesday's outing

Benson (upper body) was ruled out ahead of Tuesday's road matchup against the Lightning, per Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News.

After sustaining the upper-body injury in Monday's 5-3 win over Florida, Benson will require further evaluation before returning to Buffalo's lineup, according to head coach Lindy Ruff. It's a tough break for the red-hot Sabres, who will be without Benson for Tuesday's clash against the Atlantic Division-leading Lightning. The 20-year-old forward will have one more chance to return to the Sabres' lineup prior to the Olympic break in Buffalo's game set for Thursday against the Penguins.
