  • Nils Hoglander LW | VAN

Canucks' Nils Hoglander: Won't return before Olympic break

Head coach Adam Foote said Monday that Hoglander (lower body) has been ruled out through the Olympic break.

Hoglander suffered a lower-body injury during last Tuesday's loss to the Sharks and was unavailable for the past two games. He's been ruled out for Monday's game against Utah and Wednesday's game against the Golden Knights, and he'll have time to recover during the league's multi-week layoff for the Olympics. Hoglander was recently labeled as day-to-day, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him back in action when the Canucks resume play in late February.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

    Sabres' Alex Lyon: Starting Monday

Lyon will be between the pipes for Monday's road game against Florida, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.

Lyon is coming off a 27-save effort in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Montreal, with the fourth goal being an empty-netter. He has a 13-7-3 record in 2025-26 with a 2.64 GAA, a .913 save percentage and two shutouts across 25 appearances. Florida sits 20th in the league with 3.00 goals per game this season.

  • Sabres' Jordan Greenway: Ruled out for Monday

Greenway (abdomen) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Panthers, Jourdon LaBarber of the Blues' official site reports.

Greenway will be unavailable for a fifth consecutive matchup as he continues to be evaluated in his recovery from multiple sports hernia surgeries last year. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return before the Olympic break, but his final two chances to do so will be Tuesday against the Lightning and Thursday against the Penguins.

  • Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Ruled out through Olympic break

Head coach Craig Berube said Monday that Rielly (upper body) won't return until after the Olympic break, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.

While Berube said that Rielly still needs to be further evaluated to determine the extent of his upper-body issue, the defenseman will be sidelined Monday against Calgary and Tuesday against Edmonton. Berube indicated that Rielly's injury is a lingering ailment that he aggravated during Saturday's game against Vancouver. Rielly will have just over three weeks to recover during the Olympic break, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return when the Maple Leafs resume play.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Facing Avalanche

Gibson will defend the road net against Colorado on Monday, Bailey Curtis of DNVR Sports reports.

Gibson allowed four goals on 17 shots before getting the hook from Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Avalanche. The 32-year-old netminder has a 21-11-2 record with a 2.68 GAA, a .902 save percentage and three shutouts in 35 appearances this season. However, he has gone 0-2-1 in his last three outings while permitting nine goals on 61 shots. Colorado ranks first in the league with 3.91 goals per game this campaign.

  • Noah Laba C | NYR

    Rangers' Noah Laba: Considered day-to-day

Head coach Mike Sullivan said Monday that Laba (upper body) is considered day-to-day, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.

Laba exited Saturday's matchup against the Penguins due to an upper-body injury, but Sullivan seemed to downplay the severity of the issue. Laba participated in Monday's practice session and seems to have a chance to suit up Thursday against the Hurricanes.

  • Nick Foligno LW | MIN

    Blackhawks' Nick Foligno: Unavailable Monday

Foligno (undisclosed) won't play against San Jose on Monday, per Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News.

Foligno participated in Sunday's practice, but he will miss his second straight game. Still, it's unclear if he will be ready to return against Columbus on Wednesday. Foligno has earned two goals, 10 points, 26 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and 76 hits across 32 appearances this season.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Starting against San Jose

Knight will start Monday's home game against the Sharks, Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News reports.

Knight has been in a bit of a skid over the past week, going 0-2-1 with 10 goals allowed on 72 shots over his last three starts. However, he'll attempt to right the ship against the Sharks, who are scoring 3.09 goals per game this year, which is tied for 17th in the league.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: First off Monday

Lankinen was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports, indicating he will guard the road crease against Utah on Monday.

Lankinen struggled mightily in January, going 1-7-1 while permitting 33 goals on 261 shots in 11 outings. He has a 7-17-4 record this campaign with a 3.54 GAA and an .881 save percentage through 30 appearances. Utah sits 16th in the league with 3.15 goals per game this season.

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Slated to start Monday

Woll is expected to patrol the crease on the road against the Flames on Monday, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic reports.

Woll finally broke out of a five-game losing streak with his win over Vancouver on Saturday, in which he stopped 28 of 30 shots. With Woll taking the first game of the Maple Leafs' back-to-back, fantasy managers should expect Anthony Stolarz to get the road start versus the Oilers on Tuesday.
