MacKenzie Blackwood G | COL
Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Third shutout of season
Blackwood made 28 saves in a 5-0 victory over the Red Wings on Saturday.
It was Blackwood's third shutout of the season. He's 15-4-1 with a 2.32 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 19 starts (21 appearances). However, he's struggled in his last five outings, going 2-3-0 with 15 goals allowed (.884), even with the shutout. Fingers crossed that this shutout acts like a reboot for the netminder after this recent rough patch.

Morgan Rielly D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Suffers upper-body injury
Rielly won't return to Saturday's game against Vancouver because of an upper-body injury.
Rielly had a minus-2 rating and a block in 12:34 of ice time before exiting the match. He has seven goals, 31 points and 74 blocks in 54 appearances in 2025-26, including Saturday's action. If Rielly can't play Monday in Calgary, then Simon Benoit might draw back into the lineup.

Ivan Miroshnichenko LW | WAS
Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Picks up three points in AHL win
Miroshnichenko scored twice and added an assist in AHL Hershey's 4-3 overtime win over Utica on Saturday.
Miroshnichenko has earned two goals and three helpers over five games since he returned to the AHL following a brief stint with the Capitals. Overall, the winger has eight goals and 21 points through 25 appearances for Hershey. That's a pace roughly equal to the 42 points he put up in 53 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

Clay Stevenson G | WAS
Capitals' Clay Stevenson: Hangs on for first NHL win
Stevenson turned aside 19 of 22 shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes.
Stevenson's first outing began on the wrong foot, as he allowed three consecutive goals inside the opening 24 minutes. From that point, he helped turn the game around as the Capitals' offense came to life to steal the win from their division rival. The 26-year-old netminder was called into action for the first time this season due to the absence of Logan Thompson (upper body) and Charlie Lindgren (lower body). Saturday's win was the first of Stevenson's career after losing his only other NHL start a season ago. His fantasy value will depend on Thompson's availability, as the Capitals' starting netminder is listed as day-to-day. With Lindgren's move to injured reserve, Stevenson could make a couple of appearances before the break for the 2026 Winter Olympics. If Thompson can't go for Washington's home clash with the Islanders on Monday, Stevenson will likely get the nod.

Frederik Andersen G | CAR
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Struggles late in OT loss
Andersen stopped 38 of 42 shots on net in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals.
Andersen soared through the first 27 minutes of regulation against a high volume of shots before he allowed four consecutive goals, including the OT-winner to Washington's Justin Sourdif. With the loss, Andersen now holds a 7-10-5, a 3.26 GAA and an .871 save percentage across 22 appearances this season. While the 36-year-old netminder has seen a mixed bag of results in January, he hasn't lost in regulation since Jan. 3, earning the Hurricanes at least one point in each of his last five starts. The veteran netminder is becoming a more stable option in net for the Canes, which should lead to him seeing a solid chunk of starts down the stretch behind Brandon Bussi. While rostering Andersen in fantasy comes with risk, his track record and recent outings give him viable fantasy value in two-goalie formats.

Robert Thomas C | STL
Blues' Robert Thomas: Undergoes minor procedure
Thomas underwent a minor leg procedure Friday and is expected to play in the Blues' first game after the Olympic break, which is Feb. 26 versus the Kraken, Alex Ferrario of 101 ESPN St. Louis reports.
Thomas' operation will shut down the possibility that he'll return prior to the Olympics, which was viewed as a potentiality as recently as Friday. Instead, he'll rest and recoup for the next four weeks before being expected for a full return for the last stretch of the season. Thomas remains on injured reserve.

Dylan Guenther RW | UTA
Mammoth's Dylan Guenther: Expected to play Saturday
Guenther (lower body) is slated to play against Dallas on Saturday.
Guenther missed Utah's previous two games. He has 24 goals and 45 points in 52 outings in 2025-26. Liam O'Brien is projected to be a healthy scratch due to Guenther's return.

Nathan MacKinnon C | COL
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: First to 40 goals this season
MacKinnon scored two goals and added an assist Saturday in a 5-0 win over Detroit.
Mack now has 40 goals in 2025-26; it's the fourth time that he's scored at least that many in a regular season. He did it in 53 games this time around. MacKinnon leads the NHL in goals and is second in points (91) behind league leader, Connor McDavid, who has 94. MacKinnon also leads the NHL with a plus-46 rating, 69 even-strength points, 32 even-strength goals and 235 shots. Mack's 22 power-play points put him in a tie for just 12th overall. Colorado has been horrific on the power play, and they sit last in the NHL in net power-play percentage (10.3). It's an odd situation for the Avs, which finished eighth overall in net power-play production (21.8) last season.

Jonathan Drouin LW | STL
Islanders' Jonathan Drouin: Under the weather
Drouin (illness) won't play Saturday versus the Predators, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Max Shabanov will replace Drouin in the lineup. It's unclear at this time if Drouin will be able to play Monday versus the Capitals. The 30-year-old Drouin is in the midst of a nine-game point drought.

Nico Hischier C | NJ
Devils' Nico Hischier: Good to go
Hischier (illness) is slated to play in Saturday's game versus the Senators.
Hischier was considered a game-time decision after missing the morning skate, but he's ready to give it a go. Expect the Swiss center to play on the second line and see time in all situations. Juho Lammikko will remain out of the lineup.
