Nikita Tolopilo G | VAN
Canucks' Nikita Tolopilo: Perfect, but no shutout
Tolopilo stopped all 32 shots he faced in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.
Tolopilo was denied a shutout because his evaluation by the concussion spotter during the first intermission prevented him from taking the ice to start the second. Kevin Lankinen handled 2:11 of ice time and made one save. Few fantasy managers would have turned to Tolopilo in most circumstances, but those who did will feel hard done by with this situation. The good news is Tolopilo was able to finish the contest and has allowed just two goals on 59 shots over his last two outings. He's 3-3-0 through eight appearances and will compete with Lankinen for playing time for the remainder of the campaign. Wins will be hard to find, as the Canucks are currently at the bottom of the league standings.

Connor Dewar C | PIT
Penguins' Connor Dewar: Two goal, four hit night
Dewar scored two goals in a 6-2 win over the Blackhawks on Thursday. He added four hits.
The forward has 13 goals, eight assists, 80 shots and 95 hits in 52 games this season. Dewar is a fourth-line winger who has surprising fantasy value with his goals-hits combination. It's always a bit of roll of the dice if you're trying to pad that bruise category -- it's tempting to stick in a pylon. But a guy like Dewar, who seems to have decent hands, could deliver you a boost. That is, if you can plug him and let him ride. Trying to market time activations on guys like this is difficult at best.

Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Loses close game
Dostal stopped 24 of 25 shots in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Canucks. The second goal was an empty-netter.
That's a tough way to see a six-game winning streak snapped. Dostal put in a fine performance, keeping the Canucks off the board for 50 minutes before Drew O'Connor's icebreaker in the middle of the third period. The loss dropped Dostal to 19-13-2 with a 2.95 GAA and an .896 save percentage over 36 outings this season. The Ducks are back in action at home Sunday versus the Golden Knights. Dostal is slated to represent Czechia at the Olympics, so it's unclear what his workload will look like over the Ducks' last two games before the tournament.

Anthony Mantha RW | PIT
Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Three-game, six-point streak
Mantha had a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win over Chicago on Thursday.
Mantha is on a bit of a roll. He has put up points (three goals, three assists) and fired six shots on net during his current three-game scoring streak, and he has eight points, including five assists, in his last five games. Mantha continues to flirt with a 60-point season, which would obliterate his previous career high in points (48 in both 2017-18 and 2018-19). That's incredible production for a third-line winger skating beside a rookie center (Ben Kindel).

Nicholas Robertson LW | TOR
Maple Leafs' Nicholas Robertson: Finds twine in loss
Robertson scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Kraken.
Robertson tied the game at 1-1 in the first period, capitalizing on a Seattle turnover. The winger had gone four games without a point entering Thursday. Robertson has done pretty well in a third-line role this season, earning 12 goals, 25 points, 81 shots on net, 55 hits and a minus-3 rating through 51 appearances. That's enough production to put him in consideration in deeper fantasy formats.

Morgan Rielly D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Deposits power-play goal
Rielly scored a power-play goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Kraken.
Rielly briefly brought the Maple Leafs within a goal in the third period. The 31-year-old defenseman has actually done fairly well amid the team's recent struggles, earning two goals and three assists across the last eight games. For the season, he's up to seven goals, 31 points, 106 shots on net, 73 blocked shots and a minus-15 rating across 53 appearances.
-
Anthony Stolarz G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Tough start in Seattle
Stolarz stopped 17 of 21 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Kraken. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Stolarz has allowed nine goals on 51 shots over a pair of losses since he returned from an upper-body injury that cost him more than two months. The 32-year-old netminder hasn't been able to stabilize the crease for the Maple Leafs, who have now lost six straight contests. He's at a 6-7-1 record with a 3.67 GAA and an .876 save percentage over 15 starts this season. Stolarz and Joseph Woll will compete for playing time until one goalie can get hot and run with the starting job. The Maple Leafs have a favorable matchup ahead Saturday when they visit the Canucks.

Matty Beniers C | SEA
Kraken's Matty Beniers: Opens scoring in win
Beniers scored a goal in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
Beniers has four goals and two assists during his five-game point streak. He's taken a step forward on offense this month, earning 10 goals and 16 points over 16 outings in January. This sustained success hasn't been the norm for the 2021 No. 2 pick. He's now at 14 goals, 37 points, 100 shots on net, 44 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 53 appearances. He'll remain firmly in a top-line role as long as this scoring surge continues.
-
Brandon Montour D | SEA
Kraken's Brandon Montour: One of each in win
Montour scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, doled out two hits, blocked two shots and went plus-4 in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
Montour has a goal and five helpers over eight games since he returned from a hand injury. He's added some scoring pop as well as defensive stability to the Kraken's blue line. The defenseman is up to seven goals, 22 points, 89 shots on net, 42 hits, 44 blocked shots, 31 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 35 appearances this season. He's a strong fantasy option thanks to his decent all-around work.

Jared McCann C | SEA
Kraken's Jared McCann: Keeps rolling with two points
McCann scored an empty-net goal and added an assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
With the two-point effort, McCann has nine goals and 19 points over 16 outings in January. This was his fifth multi-point effort of the month, three of which have come in the last five games. The 29-year-old is up to 15 goals, 13 assists, 70 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over 29 appearances. Time lost to injuries will cost him a chance at a career year, but his per-game production is better than ever.
