  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Finally belts first homer

Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers. Lindor gave New York's offense a quick jolt with a leadoff homer against Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto. However, that was the final run the Mets scored in what ended up being a pitchers' duel. Still, the long ball likely took some pressure off Lindor, who hadn't gone deep in any of his first 17 games to start the campaign. Though he still carries a poor .194/.301/.306 slash line on the season, Lindor has been perking up a bit of late, batting .280 (7-for-25) across his past six contests.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Picking up pace at plate

Lindor went 2-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the A's. The shortstop collected half the Mets' hits in a 1-0 loss, but he was also caught stealing for the first time this season. Lindor came out of the gates slowly but has hit safely in four straight games and five of the last six, going 7-for-27 (.259) over the latter stretch with a double and three runs scored. He's still looking for his first homer, and first RBI, of 2026.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Logs first steal

Lindor went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Giants. Lindor had gone 0-for-9 with four walks over his previous three games. He's had a good eye so far, posting a 10:5 BB:K through eight contests, but the shortstop is batting just .185 after his second multi-hit game of the year. Slow starts are nothing new for Lindor, so fantasy managers should continue to have patience until he's able to get things to click. As long as Lindor continues to rack up steals, he has 30-30 potential while also being in a good position as the leadoff hitter for a talented lineup.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Crosses plate three times in opener

Lindor went 0-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored in Thursday's win over the Pirates. The All-Star shortstop set the table for a Mets attack that erupted for 11 runs on Opening Day and chased Paul Skenes from the game in the first inning. Lindor didn't get much of a chance to show just how much he's recovered from his mid-February hamate bone surgery, but if this performance was a preview of things to come for the new-look New York offense, he could approach the career-high 129 runs he scored back in 2018 for Cleveland.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Ready to roll for opener

Lindor (hand) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff in Thursday's opener against the Pirates. Lindor is just six weeks removed from hamate bone surgery but is ready to roll for Opening Day after playing five Grapefruit League games. Power can sometimes be slow to come back after this type of procedure, but fantasy managers will nonetheless want to have Lindor locked and loaded into their lineups.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: On track for Opening Day

Lindor (hand) is expected to be good to go for Thursday's Opening Day game against the Pirates, MLB.com reports. The veteran shortstop made his Grapefruit League debut in mid-March after recovering from surgery to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left hand, and he went 3-for-19 with a walk and four strikeouts in five games. There's yet to be any official confirmation that Lindor will be ready for Thursday's season opener -- the 32-year-old has pointedly declined to commit to being available so far -- but there's been no indications to this point that he won't be good to go.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Not yet committing to Opening Day

Lindor (hand) played four innings at shortstop while making his spring debut in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays, but afterwards he wouldn't commit to being ready for Opening Day despite saying that he has "checked every single box," Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. The 32-year-old went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a strikeout in his first game action since undergoing surgery in mid-February to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left hand. Lindor will continue ramping up toward playing a full game, and he certainly appears to be trending toward being available for the start of the regular season, even though that's not yet official.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Cleared for spring debut

Lindor (hand) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays. Lindor's availability for Opening Day looked to be in doubt after he required surgery Feb. 11 to address a fractured hamate bone in his left hand, but the five-time All-Star has made excellent progress in his recovery. After he was able to resume playing shortstop in a minor-league game earlier in the week, Lindor took live batting practice Friday, setting him up for Sunday's spring debut. Assuming he's able to stockpile at-bats over the final week of Grapefruit League play, Lindor looks like he'll be available when the Mets begin their season March 26 versus the Pirates.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Takes batting practice on field

Lindor (hand) took batting practice on the field Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. It's the first time since Lindor underwent right hamate bone surgery at the start of Mets camp that he went through a full round of batting practice on the field. After BP, Lindor faced fellow rehabber A.J. Minter (lat) in a live batting practice session. It's not clear when Lindor might be cleared to play in games, but everything is pointing toward him being available Opening Day against the Pirates.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Plays defense in MiLB game

Lindor (hand) played four innings at shortstop during a minor-league spring game Tuesday, though he did not hit in the contest, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. The 32-year-old clearly still has some limitations in his rehab program, but returning to game action, even in a limited capacity, is significant progress in his return from right hamate bone surgery. Lindor said that he's "100 percent optimistic" that he will be available for Opening Day, which is less than three weeks away.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Still optimistic for Opening Day

Lindor (hand) remains confident he'll be available for the Mets' March 26 season opener versus the Pirates, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. The veteran shortstop has progressed to hitting in a batting cage as he works his way back from hamate bone surgery. Lindor won't get his normal workload in official spring training games regardless of whether he meets that timeline or not, but he thinks he'll be able to stack up enough at-bats in back-field contests to make up the difference once he's cleared for game action. Lindor slashed .267/.346/.466 with 31 home runs and 31 steals over 160 games in 2025, his second career 30-30 campaign.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Takes swings Wednesday

Lindor (hand) took swings Wednesday for the first time since undergoing hamate bone surgery, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. It's a big step in Lindor's recovery, as he tries to ensure he's ready for Opening Day. The veteran shortstop has avoided setbacks in his rehab so far, but he's still a long way from having a firm timeline for spring game action. For now, Lindor will continue his hitting progression in controlled environments.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Could begin swinging bat soon

Lindor (hand) played catch Monday and will go through defensive drills and other baseball activities Tuesday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports. The Mets are hoping that Lindor will be able to swing a bat Tuesday or Wednesday as he continues to work his way back from hamate bone surgery. It likely would be dry swings initially before he gradually ramps up his progression. Lindor has a chance to be ready by Opening Day for the Mets but cannot afford any bumps in the road in his recovery.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Slated for hamate bone surgery

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Lindor will undergo right hamate bone surgery Wednesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. President of baseball operations David Stearns noted Tuesday that surgery for Lindor was a possibility, and it's now confirmed that the shortstop will be going under the knife. Rehab is expected to take six weeks, and while the Mets are optimistic Lindor will be ready for Opening Day, it's hardly a sure thing. If Lindor needs to miss time, the Mets could shift Bo Bichette over to shortstop and install Brett Baty at third base.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Could require hamate bone surgery

Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said Tuesday that Lindor (elbow) is being evaluated for a possible stress reaction in his left hamate bone and could require surgery, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. If an operation is needed, Lindor would need six weeks to recover. In that instance, Stearns said it's possible Lindor would be ready in time for Opening Day, but it would be a tight window given that the Mets' opener is just over six weeks away. Lindor is also coming back from a right elbow debridement procedure that he had last October, one from which he seems to be fully recovered. If Lindor gets a late start to the season, the Mets could slide Bo Bichette over to shortstop and install Brett Baty at third base.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Reaches 30-homer mark

Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and a second run scored in Thursday's 8-5 win over the Cubs. Lindor went deep for the third time in his last four games, and he's now at 30 homers on the year. The shortstop has dazzled over the last couple of weeks, going 16-for-52 (.308) with six extra-base hits, seven RBI and three stolen bases in that span. He's now reached the 30-homer mark in three straight years and six times in his career. Lindor has added a .267/.343/.462 slash line with 31 steals, 84 RBI and 115 runs scored over 157 games, making this his second career 30-30 campaign.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Plates three runs Tuesday

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Cubs. Lindor opened up the game with a leadoff home run versus Cade Horton and later plated additional runs in the fifth and sixth. Tuesday marked Lindor's first game with multiple RBI since Aug. 29, but he's now recorded a hit in 11 straight games, including homers in back-to-back. Lindor is one home run away from achieving the 30-homer mark for a third straight season and he's now up to 83 RBI and 113 runs in 2025.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Extends hitting streak to 10 games

Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo homer during the Mets' 3-2 loss to the Nationals on Sunday. Lindor reduced the deficit to one run in the sixth frame with a solo shot off Jake Irvin. It was Lindor's 28th homer of 2025, putting him two away from logging 30 home runs for a third consecutive season. He is in the midst of a 10-game hitting streak, and over that span he has gone 13-for-39 (.333) with three steals, 13 runs, two homers and three RBI.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Sparks offense in win

Lindor went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, one RBI and four runs scored in Friday's 12-6 win over the Nationals. Lindor scored each time he reached base and broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the fourth inning. The shortstop is now riding an eight-game hitting streak, piling up 12 runs in that span. On the season, he's slashing .268/.344/.456 with 27 homers, 79 RBI, 111 runs scored and 30 steals across 694 plate appearances.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Goes deep in win

Lindor went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, two runs scored and a walk in Tuesday's win against the Padres. Lindor singled and scored a run in the first inning before ripping a home run in the second. It was his 27th long ball of the year and snapped a 14-game homerless drought. Lindor has gone deep just twice over his last 24 contests but still has a shot at his third straight 30-homer campaign. He's now slashing .265/.340/.454 with 60 extra-base hits and 105 runs scored through 149 games.
