Dodgers' Blake Snell: Slated for nano scope procedure
Snell (elbow) will undergo the same "nano scope" procedure Tuesday that Tarik Skubal had earlier in May, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.
The Dodgers commented earlier in the day Monday that they weren't yet sure what type of surgery Snell would be slated for, but general manager Brandon Gomes has since confirmed that it will be the nano scope procedure for the southpaw. This is promising news for fantasy managers, as this type of procedure is thought to give Snell a chance to return in 4-to-6 weeks. A timetable for his return likely won't become clear until after the procedure.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Scheduled for surgery Tuesday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Snell will undergo surgery Tuesday to remove loose bodies in his left elbow, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Roberts relayed that he isn't sure if Snell will have the same type of surgery as Tigers ace Tarik Skubal (elbow), which carries a 4-to-6-week recovery timeline. That would shelve Snell until at least early July, but he would be looking at an even longer absence if the procedure is more intensive. Regardless, the Dodgers are optimistic that the southpaw will be cleared to return before the end of the season.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Lands on IL with elbow injury
The Dodgers placed Snell on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Tuesday, due to loose bodies in his left elbow, Maddie Lee of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Snell was scratched from Friday's start against the Angels, and it's clear now why that was necessary. If he needs to undergo surgery like he did in 2019 for the same issue, then he's looking at 2-to-3 months on the shelf, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today. Snell will be making his season debut Saturday after landing on the injured list at the start of the season with a sore left shoulder. He had been originally scheduled for an additional rehab start Saturday after building up to 55 pitches during his last outing Sunday, so the Dodgers will likely limit his pitch count while he faces a tough Atlanta lineup. Snell had been scheduled for one more rehab outing, but the Dodgers have elected to bring him back early. The left-hander threw only 55 pitches over four innings in his third and final rehab start, so he will be working with a limited pitch count Saturday. Snell is coming back from left shoulder fatigue, which had bothered him since last season. He allowed four runs (three earned) with a 10:2 K:BB over eight innings in three rehab outings.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Throws 55 pitches in rehab start
Snell (shoulder) completed four innings in a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, allowing two earned runs on two hits and one walk while striking out four batters.
Snell threw 55 pitches (37 strikes), and his fastball topped out at 97.4 miles per hour. He served up a two-run home run in the first inning but didn't give up any hits thereafter. Snell is through three rehab appearances spanning eight total innings, during which he has given up four runs (three earned) while posting a 10:2 K:BB. Per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, Snell is expected to make one more rehab start and will aim for five innings and 75 pitches in that outing.

Snell (shoulder) will draw another start with Single-A Ontario on Tuesday.
Snell will be on the mound for the second outing of his minor-league rehab assignment. The southpaw gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk while throwing 21 or his 32 total pitches for strikes in his first start with Ontario on Wednesday. Snell is expected to slowly work his way up to 75 pitches or five innings on the mound during his rehab assignment before he'd potentially be activated from the 15-day injured list at some point in May, and Tuesday's outing will be another step in that direction.
