Mets' Devin Williams: Hangs on for eighth save
Williams struck out three and also walked three in a scoreless ninth to steal a save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Cincinnati.
Williams walked the bases loaded in the top of the ninth with one out but was able to fan Dane Myers and Blake Dunn for his eighth save in nine attempts this season. The right-hander has converted six straight save chances, with his only blemish coming in a loss against Miami on May 24. During this span, Williams has given up four earned runs (all coming in the loss) and has a 13:7 K:BB over nine innings.

Mets' Devin Williams: Serves up walk-off homer
Williams (3-2) took the loss Sunday against the Marlins, coughing up four runs on two hits and two walks in one-third of an inning.
With the game tied 0-0, Williams took the mound for the bottom of the ninth and promptly gave up a leadoff double to Christopher Morel. A sacrifice bunt and two walks loaded the bases, and Heriberto Hernandez then got hold of a changeup and crushed it over the center-field fence for a walk-off grand slam. It was just the second long ball Williams has served up in 2026, but both have come on his previously unhittable Airbender -- the right-hander's allowed a .325 batting average and .550 SLG on his changeup this season after giving up a .162 BA and .216 SLG on the pitch just two years ago. Through his first 17 innings as a Met, Williams has a 6.35 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB while converting seven of eight save chances.

Mets' Devin Williams: In vintage form after adjustment
Williams credits a mechanical adjustment for his current 10-appearance scoreless streak, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
The right-hander has suddenly regained the elite form he showed to begin his career in Milwaukee, where he posted a sub-2.00 ERA over three straight seasons before being traded to the Yankees in 2025. His new club had Williams adjust the position of his hands when he began his motion to the plate in an effort to combat perceived pitch tipping, but the end result was a 4.79 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 90:25 K:BB over 62 regular-season innings last year, and he eventually lost the closer job to David Bednar. Williams signed a three-year contract with the Mets this offseason, and after a shaky start to 2026, a video review session in late April prompted the 31-year-old to return to his original hand placement. Since then, he's converted five straight save chances over 9.2 shutout innings with a 12:2 K:BB.

Mets' Devin Williams: Hangs on for seventh save
Williams secured the save Thursday against the Nationals, allowing one hit and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out one.
Williams let the possible tying run get into scoring position via a Daylen Lile double but held on to preserve a one-run win for the Mets on Thursday. That's now 10 consecutive scoreless outings for the right-hander, who has nailed down five straight save opportunities. Williams' stats are still recovering from a brutal start to the year, as he now has a 4.32 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 25:8 K:BB over 16.2 innings while converting seven of his eight save chances.

Mets' Devin Williams: Nabs third win
Williams (3-1) picked up the win Sunday against the Yankees, walking one and striking out one in a scoreless and hitless 10th inning.
The Mets' closer left phantom runner Ryan McMahon stranded by coaxing a double play out of Austin Wells, then got rewarded with the victory when Carson Benge brought home the winning run with a fielder's choice chopper up the middle. Williams hasn't been tagged with a run in nine straight appearances, posting a 11:2 K:BB and allowing only one hit in 8.2 innings over that stretch while collecting two wins and four saves.

Mets' Devin Williams: Clean inning for save
Williams struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.
Williams threw eight of 12 pitches for strikes in his fourth clean appearance of the month. He's gone eight straight outings (7.2 innings) without allowing a run, giving up just one hit with a 10:1 K:BB and four saves in that span. Williams appears to have put his early struggles behind him, though they're still evident in his 4.91 ERA and 1:50 WHIP over 14.2 innings this season. He's up to six saves in seven chances and is unchallenged for the closer role -- Tobias Myers (one) is the only other pitcher on the Mets' roster to log a save so far in 2026.

Mets' Devin Williams: Picks up win against Arizona
Williams (2-1) picked up the win Friday against the Diamondbacks, recording one strikeout in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.
With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth, Williams came on and got Lourdes Gurriel and Gabriel Moreno to ground out before striking out Jose Fernandez to send it to a 10th inning. After the Mets plated two in the top half of the frame, Tobias Myers came on and picked up the save. After a tumultuous middle of April in which he allowed eight runs across four appearances, Williams has six consecutive scoreless outings spanning 5.2 innings. On the year, Williams has a 5.68 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 21:6 K:BB across 12.2 innings. He's 5-for-6 in save chances.

Mets' Devin Williams: Collects fifth save
Williams struck out both batters he faced to earn the save in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Rockies.
Sean Manaea was tasked with protecting a five-run lead in the ninth inning, but he instead loaded the bases while recording just one out. Williams came in and racked up six strikes on nine pitches to escape the jam, earning his third save in as many appearances in May. A four-game stretch in the middle of April saw Williams give up eight runs over two innings, but he's posted five consecutive scoreless outings since then. His 6.17 ERA and 1.80 WHIP for the season are ugly, but Williams has converted five of six save chances and has a 20:6 K:BB over 11.2 innings. The struggles haven't cost him the closer role yet, though the Mets' overall poor performance hasn't led to a ton of closing opportunities.

Mets' Devin Williams: Secures fourth save
Williams picked up the save Monday against Colorado. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out one over a perfect inning.
Williams entered in the ninth inning with a two-run cushion and made quick work of the Rockies, retiring the side in order on just eight pitches to secure his fourth save of the season. It has been a rocky start to his tenure with the Mets, as the right-hander owns a 6.55 ERA and 1.91 WHIP, though he's still striking batters out at a prolific rate (14.7 K/9) and has strung together four consecutive outings without allowing an earned run.

Mets' Devin Williams: Earns third save of season
Williams earned his third save of the season Friday against the Angels, tossing a perfect ninth inning while striking out two.
Williams is trending in the right direction of late -- this was his third straight scoreless outing, and he is now 3-for-4 in save chances. Williams endured a rough stretch between April 15 and April 23, allowing eight runs on nine hits with a 6:4 K:BB across four appearances, but it looks like he's finding his groove again. Even with his struggles, Williams remains the Mets' ninth-inning arm until further notice, so he remains a valuable fantasy asset, especially considering his track record.

Mets' Devin Williams: Shaky again, but picks up win
Williams (1-1) earned the win over the Twins on Thursday, allowing one run on three hits while striking out two batters over two-thirds of an inning.
The Mets led by three runs entering the ninth inning, and manager Carlos Mendoza intended to immediately deploy Williams for the start of the frame, per Max Goodman of NJ.com. However, a dugout miscommunication led to fellow reliever Huascar Brazoban -- who finished off the eighth inning -- walking onto the field and crossing the foul line, which meant he had to stay in the game. Brazoban got one out and then exited in favor of Williams, but that meant the latter was no longer in line for a save. Williams didn't have a good outing in any case, yielding three hits and a run, but he was able to hold the lead and was generously granted the win by the official scorer. While that's a small victory for Williams' fantasy managers, it doesn't quell concerns about the veteran reliever's performance of late. After opening the campaign with five straight scoreless outings, Williams has surrendered eight runs over two innings across his past four appearances.
