  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Still not throwing

Glasnow said Friday that the inflammation has gone down in his right elbow, but he has yet to resume throwing, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Glasnow was shut down after being diagnosed with a right elbow sprain Sept. 14. While he isn't expected to undergo surgery, Glasnow has been restricted to rehab on his elbow, and he noted Friday that a more definitive recovery plan will be put in place once he undergoes more scans, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Glasgow went 9-6 during the regular season with a 3.49 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 168:35 K:BB across 134 innings.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Expects to avoid surgery

Glasnow doesn't expect to need surgery on his sprained right elbow, but he's been shut down from throwing for the foreseeable future, per MLB.com. Glasnow was diagnosed with a right elbow sprain Sept. 14 and was subsequently moved to the 60-day IL. Though the right-hander doesn't think he'll need surgery, his injured elbow will be subject to monitoring and imaging as he looks ahead to clearance to resume throwing. Glasnow's injury isn't expected to carry over into next season, but it's highly unlikely he'll pitch again in 2024 even if the Dodgers make a deep run into the postseason.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Moves to 60-day IL

The Dodgers transferred Glasnow (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday. Glasnow was diagnosed with a sprained elbow Saturday, and his move to the 60-day IL will officially rule him out for the remainder of the regular season. Zach Logue's contract was selected from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Initial scans promising

Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that initial scans on Glasnow's right elbow were "promising," Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Glasnow reported discomfort in his elbow while warming up for a simulated game Friday. While the Dodgers skipper didn't get into specific details regarding the right-hander's status, it seems there may still be a chance he returns in time to make another start before the end of the regular season.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Suffers setback Friday

Manager Dave Roberts said Glasnow felt discomfort in his right elbow Friday while warming up for a simulated game, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Glasnow was slated to face live hitters for two or three simulated innings, but he instead returned to the clubhouse after warming up. The 31-year-old right-hander will get additional testing on his elbow to provide some clarity on his chances of returning before the end of the regular season, per Juan Toribio of MLB.com. Glasnow has been on the 15-day injured list since Aug. 16 due to tendinitis in his right elbow.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Doesn't face hitters

Glasnow didn't complete his scheduled simulated game Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Glasnow went straight to the clubhouse after warming up in the bullpen instead of facing hitters. It's unclear why he couldn't complete the session, but it doesn't bode well for his ability to return before the end of the regular season. Glasnow hasn't thrown for the Dodgers since Aug. 11 due to elbow tendinitis.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Sim game on tap

Glasnow (elbow) will face hitters in a simulated game over the weekend, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. Glasnow reportedly felt good coming out of his bullpen session Tuesday, and he's now been given the green light to throw 2-to-3 simulated innings against live hitters. Assuming everything goes smoothly this weekend, the 31-year-old righty will likely rejoin Los Angeles' rotation sometime next week and build up his workload while pitching in big-league games.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Tossing another bullpen Tuesday

Glasnow (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday followed by a simulated game Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. This is another step in the right direction for Glasnow, who successfully fired a 25-pitch bullpen session Saturday. If he's able to get through Tuesday's bullpen and Friday's sim game without issue, the right-hander could be sent out on a rehab assignment as early as next week.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Won't return before mid-September

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Glasnow (elbow) could return to Los Angeles' rotation in mid-September in a "best-case scenario," per MLB.com. Glasnow landed on the injured list for the second time this season Aug. 16 due to right elbow tendinitis. He played catch both Friday and Saturday and said after the latter session that he is "confident" he will return to the Dodgers' rotation before the end of the season, per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. Roberts previously stated that Glasnow will require a minor-league rehab assignment prior to a potential activation, and the ace pitcher's timeline suggests that, at maximum, he could pitch in three more regular-season games ahead of the playoffs.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Set to resume throwing

Glasnow (elbow) will play catch Friday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. Glasnow's recovery from elbow tendinitis had been stalled for a few days, but he'll resume throwing Friday. Manager Dave Roberts shared optimism that Glasnow would return to the mound this season, but he did not commit to that outcome.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Will require rehab assignment

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Glasnow's progress from his elbow injury has been "slow moving" and indicated that the hurler will need a rehab assignment prior to returning, per Dodger Blue. When Glasnow landed on the injured list Aug. 16, the level of concern about the right-hander was relatively low, especially considering that Glasnow said that he pushed the team not to place him on the IL or even to skip his start. However, there's now at least a bit more worry given that the All-Star hurler has made slower-than-expected progress. Glasnow did begin a throwing program this past weekend, and even with a rehab assignment a necessity before he can return to the Dodgers' rotation, it's possible that he could be back with the big club in mid-September.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Still not throwing

Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Glasnow (elbow) has yet to begin playing catch, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. The skipper added that Glasnow likely won't be activated once he's eligible to come off the injured list Aug. 31, but the team's concern is still relatively low. A clearer return timeline for the 30-year-old right-hander may emerge once he's able to begin a throwing program.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Lands on injured list

The Dodgers placed Glasnow on the 15-day injured list Friday with right elbow tendinitis, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The Dodgers pushed back Glasnow's next start from Friday to Saturday after he pitched seven innings during his last outing, but he'll now have to miss multiple turns through the rotation. His roster spot will be given to Justin Wrobleski, who was recalled from Triple-A to start Friday's game versus St. Louis. Bobby Miller was added to the Dodgers' taxi squad Friday and will presumably start Saturday's contest in Glasnow's place.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Next start moved to Saturday

Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Glasnow's next start will be pushed back to Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Glasnow had originally been in line to start Friday's series opener, but the team will instead opt to give him an extra day of rest after he lasted seven innings in his most recent start. Justin Wrobleski is a likely candidate to come up from the minors to make a spot start Friday.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Another strong outing Sunday

Glasnow did not factor into the decision in Sunday's win over the Pirates, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over seven innings. Glasnow was in control for most of the afternoon outside of a third-inning two-run homer by Andrew McCutchen. He was in line for another win that ended up being spoiled by the Dodgers bullpen again after Anthony Banda allowed a two-run homer to McCutchen in the eighth to tie up the game. Glasnow put together his third consecutive quality start and now sits third in baseball in strikeouts (168) and WHIP (0.95). For the year, the 30-year-old owns a 3.49 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 168:35 K:BB in 134 innings and lines up to face the Cardinals on the road his next time on the mound.

The veteran right-hander finished with his second straight quality start and picked up his first victory since June 22. • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Bullpen spoils strong start

Glasnow did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Padres, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings. Glasnow allowed a solo home run to Manny Machado in the second and then the Padres manufactured two more runs off him in the third. He exited the game in line for the win, but Blake Treinen blew the save opportunity in the ninth. Glasnow's eight strikeouts were his most in a start since he had 10 on June 22, which happened to also be the last time he was credited with a win. He's now allowed a home run in three straight starts and has given up 14 on the year, which is already one more than he gave up in 21 starts last season. The 30-year-old owns a 3.50 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 155:34 K:BB in 121 innings and lines up to face the Phillies at home next week.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Walks four in loss

Glasnow (8-6) took the loss against the Giants on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out four. Glasnow struggled with his command a bit in his return to the rotation, issuing walks in each of the first three innings before surrendering a leadoff homer to Matt Chapman to open the fourth. The right-hander threw just eight of his 21 first pitches for strikes while matching his season high with four free passes. On a positive note, Glasnow was able to get through five frames without any apparent setbacks and still managed to produce 10 whiffs despite his command issues. He's now allowed two runs or fewer in five of his last eight starts.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Reinstated from IL

Glasnow (back) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Wednesday ahead of his start against the Giants. Back tightness forced Glasnow onto the IL on July 9, but he'll now return to the Dodgers' rotation following a minimum-length stay. The 30-year-old righty reached 58 pitches while throwing three simulated innings Friday, though it's possible he works under some sort of restriction during his first start back. Landon Knack was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: To start Thursday

Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Glasnow (back) will return from the 15-day injured list to start Thursday's game against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. After throwing 58 pitches over three simulated innings Friday, Glasnow said that he expected to return to the rotation Wednesday, but the Dodgers will wait an extra day before activating him. Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will return from the 60-day injured list to make his season debut for the Dodgers on Wednesday, while Glasnow gets the ball for the series finale Thursday. The 30-year-old Glasnow turned in a 3.47 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP with 143 strikeouts across 109 innings before landing on the IL on July 9 with lower-back tightness.
