  • Tito Polo: Released by Mariners

Polo was released by the Mariners on Friday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Per Tacoma Rainiers broadcaster Mike Curto, Polo had been suspended indefinitely by the Pacific Coast League for spiking El Paso first baseman Alex Dickerson on Wednesday. As a 24-year-old with just 10 games of Triple-A experience and not a ton of prospect pedigree, Polo evidently was deemed not worth keeping around by the Mariners following the incident.

  • Mariners' Tito Polo: Switches organizations

Polo signed a minor-league deal with the Mariners.

The 24-year-old outfielder joins his fourth organization by agreeing to this pact. He has never played above Double-A and will serve as organizational depth for the rebuilding Mariners.

  • White Sox's Tito Polo: Scratched from Wednesday's lineup

Polo was removed from Wednesday's lineup card due to a calf injury, Daryl Van Schouwen of The Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Polo was replaced by Blake Rutherford in the starting nine. The club didn't announce any other news regarding Polo's condition, so he should be considered day-to-day for now. The 23-year-old will return to the minor leagues for the start of the 2018 season after appearing in 35 Double-A contests last year.

  • White Sox's Tito Polo: Traded to White Sox

Polo was traded to the White Sox on Tuesday as part of a multi-player deal.

Polo spent the first six years of his minor-league career in the Pirates' organization before being acquired by the Yankees during the 2016 season. The 22-year-old is in the midst of a breakout campaign this year, as he has posted a wRC+ of 124 with High-A Tampa and a wRC+ of 166 with Double-A Trenton. He'll look to stay hot with his new ball club.
