  • Angels' Adrian Rondon: Traded to Angels

Rondon was sent from the Rays to the Angels on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Rondon's primary accomplishment is that he's already spent parts of two seasons at the Low-A level at age 20, as his .205/.264/.304 slash line in 154 games for Bowling Green certainly isn't exciting. Scouts at one point liked his raw power, but he hasn't shown much of anything in game action thus far and is several years away from making a big-league impact.

  • Rays' Adrian Rondon: Poor numbers not concerning for 18-year-old prospect

Rondon has five home runs and two stolen bases (four attempts) while hitting .230 with Low-A Bowling Green.

Rondon is only 18 years old and already has two years of experience under his belt, so even playing at Low-A is a major accomplishment for the former top international prospect. With that being said, it will still be a couple years until Rondon fully grows into his body and reaches his full potential, so the poor offensive numbers this season are nothing to be worried about.

  • Rays' Adrian Rondon: Showing off power in Appalachian League

Rondon, 18, is slashing .262/.323/.488 with five homers in 84 at-bats in the Appalachian League.

The top prospect in the 2014 J-2 class may have frustrated his dynasty league owners in 2015, when he posted a .491 OPS in 43 games in the Gulf Coast League. However, he has rewarded the patience of those who stuck with him, as he is starting to flash the tools that led to all that hype two years ago. He is 0-for-4 on stolen-base attempts and it remains to be seen how his approach and hit tool will play as he moves up the organizational ladder, but it's starting to look like he could be a middle-of-the-order shortstop in time, and he should be treated as such in dynasty leagues.
