  • White Sox's Erick Fedde: Signs with ChiSox

The White Sox signed Fedde to a one-year contract Monday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Fedde, of course, spent the 2023 season in the KBO before returning to the majors in 2024 with the White Sox, where Fedde experienced success prior to being dealt to the Cardinals at the trade deadline that summer. Fedde was knocked around with St. Louis and pitched for three different teams in 2025, posting an ugly 5.49 ERA and 83:67 K:BB across 141 innings. The White Sox and Fedde will hope he can recapture some of that previous success again in 2026. He'll compete for a spot in the rotation this spring.

  • White Sox's Mike Vasil: Will compete for rotation role

Vasil is stretching out as a starter and will compete for a rotation spot this spring, he recently said on the Baseball isn't Boring Podcast.

Vasil made three traditional starts in 2025 but primarily worked as a multi-inning reliever. He allowed eight earned runs across 11 innings as a starter, and he also had a 12.3 percent walk rate across 101 total innings. Those factors suggest Vasil might be best suited to stick in a relief role, but he'll have the chance to prove otherwise this spring.

  • White Sox's Drew Romo: Receives outright assignment

Romo cleared waivers Friday and has been outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte while receiving a non-roster invite to spring training, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Romo was designated for assignment Sunday, and after clearing waivers, he'll remain within the organization. The 24-year-old catcher will join the White Sox at spring training as a non-roster invitee. Romo spent most of the 2025 season with the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate in Albuquerque, where he slashed .264/329/.409 with seven homers, 23 RBI, 28 runs scored and two stolen bases across 244 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Jairo Iriarte: Clears waivers

Iriarte cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte while receiving a non-roster invite to spring training, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Iriarte was designated for assignment Sunday, and after going unclaimed on waivers, he'll remain within the White Sox organization. The 24-year-old right-hander spent most of the 2025 season at Triple-A Charlotte, posting a 7.24 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and 48:37 K:BB across 46 innings spanning 35 appearances.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: DFA'd by ChiSox

The White Sox designated Hudson for assignment Wednesday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Austin Hays, whose signing was made official Wednesday. Hudson was a key reliever for the Brewers in 2024, but he regressed in 2025, spending much of the year in the minors and collecting a 4.80 ERA and 19:13 K:BB over 15 frames during his time at the big-league level. The 6-foot-8 lefty doesn't have minor-league options remaining, but his 1.73 ERA and 0.72 WHIP from 2024 could be enough to garner some interest on the waiver wire.

  • White Sox's Grant Taylor: Aiming for 100 innings in 2026

Taylor has a goal of reaching 100 innings in 2026, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The White Sox will deploy Taylor as a reliever this season before transitioning him back to a starting role in 2027. He threw a total of 63.1 innings in 2025 between the majors and minors, which was a career high after he dealt with numerous injuries in previous seasons. Many of Taylor's appearances in 2026 could come in long relief since that's the best way to build his workload, but the White Sox haven't ruled out giving him some high-leverage opportunities, as well. It's a role that might not lead to much fantasy value during the upcoming season, but Taylor's upside remains high.

  • White Sox's Drew Romo: DFA'd by White Sox

The White Sox designated Romo for assignment Sunday.

The 24-year-old catcher was claimed off waivers by Chicago in early January and will now go through the waiver process once again. Romo has also spent time on the rosters of the Rockies, Orioles and Mets this offseason. He spent most of 2025 at the Triple-A level and had a .738 OPS in 244 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Jairo Iriarte: Designated for assignment

The White Sox designated Iriarte for assignment Sunday.

The right-hander received his first taste of the majors late in 2024 and gave up one earned run with a 6:8 K:BB over six innings. Iriarte failed to make Chicago's Opening Day roster last spring and stumbled to a 7.24 ERA and 7.2 BB/9 with Triple-A Charlotte in 2025, which has now cost him his place on the 40-man roster.

  • White Sox's David Sandlin: Traded to White Sox

The White Sox are acquiring Sandlin, Jordan Hicks (shoulder), two players-to-be-named and cash from the Red Sox on Sunday in exchange for Gage Ziehl and a player-to-be-named, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Sandlin was added to Boston's 40-man roster in November in order to protect him from the Rule 5 Draft, and he'll now make his way to Chicago. The right-hander had a 3.61 ERA across 82.1 innings at the Double-A level last season but struggled to a 7.61 ERA upon being promoted to Triple-A. Sandlin is likely to return to the Triple-A level to begin 2026 but will be in big-league camp with the White Sox, so he'll have an outside chance of cracking the Opening Day roster.

  • White Sox's Jordan Hicks: Dealt to White Sox

The White Sox are acquiring Hicks (shoulder), David Sandlin, two players-to-be-named and cash from the Red Sox on Sunday in exchange for Gage Ziehl and a player-to-be-named, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Hicks was shipped from San Francisco to Boston in the Rafael Devers trade last year and is now on the move once again. The right-hander signed a four-year, $44.83 million contract with the Giants in January of 2024 to serve as a starter, and he pitched decently that year with a 4.10 ERA across 109.2 innings. However, he struggled early last year and was shifted to the bullpen, finishing the regular season with a 6.95 ERA over 67.1 frames between the Giants and Red Sox. According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, the Red Sox are covering $8 million of Hicks' salary across the remaining two years of his contract. The 29-year-old missed most of September due to shoulder tendinitis but should be ready for the start of spring training since he was back to throwing before the end of the season.

  • White Sox's Austin Hays: Lands with White Sox

Hays signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the White Sox on Saturday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

After sending Luis Robert to the Mets earlier in the month, the White Sox will add some talent back to their outfield by bringing in Hays. The 30-year-old enjoyed one of his best seasons in the majors last year with the Reds, slashing .266/.315/.453 with 15 homers, 64 RBI and 60 runs scored while adding seven steals in 103 games. He's primarily played in left field over the past few seasons, but the White Sox may look to take advantage of his arm strength in right field, keeping Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) in left.

  • White Sox's Edgar Quero: Works on swing at Driveline

Quero visited Driveline Baseball last week with a goal of increasing his bat speed and improving his launch angle, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

Quero had a healthy 46.3 percent hard-hit rate and 90.4 mph average exit velocity during his rookie season, but his bat speed ranked in the fourth percentile and his average launch angle ranked in the seventh percentile. An assessment determined Quero was lacking lower-body strength, so he was given drills to help increase his explosiveness and add more bat speed. He also had a pull-air rate of just 7.8 percent last season, and the instructors at Driveline worked with him on catching the ball in front of the plate in order to pull the ball with authority. Quero had a respectable .268/.333/.356 batting line in his rookie season and sported a 17.9 percent strikeout rate, but he swatted just five home runs. If the young switch hitter is able to boost his power while maintaining his quality eye at the dish, he could break through. Quero is set to share catching duties with Kyle Teel in 2026 and is also expected to see ample starts at designated hitter for the White Sox.

  • White Sox's Lucas Sims: Lands NRI deal from White Sox

The White Sox signed Sims to a minor-league contract Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Sims had a forgettable 2025 campaign, posting a 13.86 ERA and 13:14 K:BB over 12.1 innings for the Nationals before getting released. He signed a minor-league deal with the Phillies after that but never made it back to the majors. The 31-year-old is likely ticketed for the Triple-A Charlotte bullpen to begin 2026.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Designated for assignment

The White Sox designated Ramos for assignment Thursday.

Ramos will give up his place on the 40-man roster to make room for Seranthony Dominguez, who officially signed with the team Thursday. Ramos has appeared in 36 games for the White Sox since making his MLB debut in 2024 and has slashed just .198/.244/.333 with three homers, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored across 119 plate appearances. He's still just 23 years old, however, so another team may be willing to claim the young infielder off waivers.

  • White Sox's Braden Montgomery: Garners spring invite

The White Sox have extended Montgomery an invitation to big-league camp during spring training.

Fellow top prospects Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith will also be in major-league camp for the White Sox. All three are unlikely to make the Opening Day roster, but Montgomery could push to debut at some point in 2026, especially with Chicago's lack of outfield depth. The 22-year-old finished the 2025 campaign at Double-A Birmingham, putting up a .270/.360/.444 batting line with 12 home runs and 14 stolen bases across three stops.

  • White Sox's Tyson Miller: Goes to White Sox as NRI

The White Sox signed Miller to a minor-league contract Jan. 15 that includes an invitation to spring training.

After posting a 2.32 ERA and 54:11 K:BB over 62 innings between the Mariners and Cubs in 2024, Miller took a major step back in 2025. He missed ample time with a hip injury and, when healthy, never escaped Triple-A Iowa, where he was torched for a 6.27 ERA and 36:34 K:BB in 37.1 frames. Miller could bounce back and win a spot in the White Sox' bullpen, though the chances are better he opens the 2026 season at Triple-A Charlotte.

... See More ... See Less
  • White Sox's Seranthony Dominguez: Signs with ChiSox

The White Sox signed Dominguez to a two-year, $20 million contract Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

There's also a mutual option for 2028, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, and the White Sox plan to use Dominguez as their closer. The right-hander has some modest closing experience, having notched 40 saves in his career, including 11 in 2024 between the Phillies and Orioles. The 31-year-old is coming off a 2025 campaign that saw him collect a 3.16 ERA and 79:36 K:BB over 62.2 regular-season frames between the Orioles and Blue Jays. Dominguez boasts a career 27.9 percent strikeout rate, but free passes (career 10.5 percent walk rate) have been a problem. With Dominguez taking over the ninth inning, previous incumbent closer options Jordan Leasure and Grant Taylor will work earlier in games with a rotation job potentially still in Taylor's future.

... See More ... See Less
  • White Sox's LaMonte Wade: Nabs NRI pact from ChiSox

The White Sox signed Wade to a minor-league contract Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Wade felt apart in 2025, finishing with a lowly .167/.271/.254 batting line across 80 games between the Giants and Angels. He was a career .246/.351/.411 hitter prior to that and is just 32 years of age, so it's reasonable to think he could rebound in 2026. Wade has primarily played first base the last few years but also has plenty of outfield experience, and Chicago's outfield is wide open for playing time.
