  Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday that Reiff (knee) will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports. Reiff was designated to return from IR on Nov. 15, but he failed to be activated prior to his 21-day practice window expiring Wednesday. The 35-year-old will now shift his focus to being ready to go for the 2024 campaign after appearing in just one game for New England in 2023.

The transaction starts the clock on a 21-day window during which the Patriots can officially activate Reiff before they'd be required to shut him down for the rest of the season. New England's practice reports during the week will give an indication of his potential availability for Week 11.

The veteran tackle was activated from injured reserve last week and was a limited participant in Friday's practice, but it seems as if he's not ready for in-game action just yet. The veteran offensive lineman suffered a knee injury during the Patriots' preseason finale, but it seems as if he's had enough time to move past the issue.   Reiff (knee), who left Friday's 23-7 preseason loss to the Titans, was not spotted at the media-access portion of the Patriots' practice Sunday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Reiff left early in the second quarter on a Kevin Harris run up the middle. Reiff is listed as the starting right tackle but played at right guard in the Patriots' preseason finale. The severity of the injury is unknown.
