Joel Stave: Let go by Cleveland
Stave was waived by the Browns on Monday.
Stave was waived in order to make room for the punter Justin Vogel, who was claimed off waivers Monday. Landing with the Browns last week, Stave took part in the club's rookie minicamp.

Browns' Joel Stave: Signs with Browns
Stave signed with the Browns on Monday.
Stave was most recently waived by the Jets a little over two weeks ago after signing a reserve/future contract with them back in January. He is still yet to appear in the regular season, however, and given that the Browns look to be secure at the quarterback position with Tyrod Taylor, Drew Stanton and No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, chances are he ends up on a practice squad yet again.

Joel Stave: Placed on waivers
Stave was waived by the Jets on Friday.
The Wisconsin product was signed to a reserve/future contract by the Jets on Jan. 1, but he'll be let go without truly proving his worth. The Jets will likely draft a quarterback later in April to add to Josh McCown (hand) and Teddy Bridgewater (knee), so this move was inevitable. If he clears waivers, he'll look for a spot on the Jets' practice squad.

Joel Stave: Signs reserve/future contract with Jets
The Jets signed Stave to a reserve/future contract Monday, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
Stave has spent time with the Vikings and Redskins since going undrafted out of Wisconsin in 2016 but is yet to appear in a professional game. With Josh McCown (hand) set for unrestricted free agency, Stave initially slots in as the Jets' third quarterback behind Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg.

Joel Stave: Joining Washington practice squad
The Redskins signed Stave to their practice squad Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Stave completed four of nine passes for 80 yards and a score while competing for a reserve gig in the preseason with the Chiefs, but didn't make the team and later latched on with the Vikings' practice squad. After a short stint in Minnesota, he's now in Washington, but is unlikely to be promoted to the active roster unless an injury strikes either Kirk Cousins or Colt McCoy.
