Browns' Devon Cajuste: Leads team in receiving Thursday
Cajuste caught two of four targets for 48 yards during Thursday's preseason contest with the Lions.
The journeyman tight end is battling for a roster spot, a case strengthened by his performance in the preseason and the fact that tight end Seth DeValve (quad) -- who also is trying to make the squad -- didn't appear in a single game. Even if Cajuste does make the roster, he doesn't figure to make an impact on offense.

Browns' Devon Cajuste: Plays 37 snaps in preseason opener
Cajuste (concussion) caught both targets for 27 yards in Thursday's 20-10 preseason win over the Giants.
Cajust suffered a concussion in late July but is apparently clear of any further issues. The 25-year-old led Cleveland tight ends with 37 offensive snaps Thursday and was the only one to catch a pass besides starter David Njoku.

Browns' Devon Cajuste: Suffers concussion
Cajuste exited Thursday's practice early due to a concussion, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Cajuste is competing for a reserve role with the Browns, and his chances of making the roster will be slimmer the longer he's sidelined. Look for Julian Allen to get some extra reps as long as Cajuste is sidelined.

Browns' Devon Cajuste: Lands contract with Cleveland
The Browns signed Cajuste to a reserve/future contract Wednesday.
Cajuste, who went undrafted out of Stanford in 2016, wasn't affiliated with any team in 2017 after spending time with both the 49ers and Packers during his rookie season. However, he's a capable blocker who doubled as a serviceable receiver during his college days and has a chance to stick with the Browns if he can prove himself on special teams this offseason.

Packers' Devon Cajuste: Placed on IR
Cajuste (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports.
Cajuste had been on the Packers' practice squad for much of the season and he's yet to be active for a single NFL contest. He was seen using crutches at team facility but the specifics of his injury were not disclosed.

Devon Cajuste: Released by 49ers
Cajuste was released by the 49ers on Saturday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Cajuste was buried on San Francisco's depth chart, but will likely be a candidate to join the practice squad once he clears waivers.

49ers' Devon Cajuste: Signs with 49ers
The 49ers have agreed to terms with undrafted free agent Cajuste, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports.
Cajuste had a promising sophomore season at Stanford, recording 642 yards and five touchdowns, but he failed to equal that production in his final two seasons, netting a combined 940 yards and nine touchdowns, which makes it unsurprising that he ultimately went undrafted. Measuring in at 6-foot-4, 234 pounds at the Combine, there was talk that Cajuste may be moved to tight end instead of receiver in the NFL, but it's unclear how the 49ers will use him. In either case, he'll likely be buried on the depth chart, and it'll be an uphill battle for him to make the team's 53-man roster.
