  • Rodney Adams: Waived without injury designation

The Jets waived Adams (illness) without an injury designation Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Adams ended the 2022 campaign on the reserve/non-football illness list, but he appears to be healthy heading into the summer. The 2017 fifth-round pick has appeared in just one NFL contest (2021 with Chicago) and failed to haul in his lone target across nine offensive snaps. He'll likely have to settle for a practice-squad gig in 2023 if he hopes to keep his NFL dreams alive.

  • Jets' Rodney Adams: Reverts to NFI list

Adams reverted to the reserve/non-football illness list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. • Rodney Adams: Cut with designation

The Jets cut Adams on Monday with a non-football illness designation, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Adams had linked a reserve/future deal with the Jets back in January, but he will now need to search for an opportunity elsewhere once fully healthy. He spent most of the 2021 season on Chicago's practice squad and appeared in one game with the team.

  • Rodney Adams: Let go Monday

Adams was waived by the Jets on Monday. Adams inked a reserve/future contract with the Jets in January after he spent most of last season on the Bears' practice squad. Montgomery.

  • Jets' Rodney Adams: Signs contract with Jets

The Jets signed Adams to a reserve/future contract Thursday, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports. • Rodney Adams: Reverted to practice squad

Adams reverted to Chicago's practice squad Monday. The 27-year-old was active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, failing to draw a target. With Allen Robinson (hamstring) and Marquise Goodwin (foot) expected back soon, there wasn't any room for Adams on the active roster.

  • Bears' Rodney Adams: Sees first action of season

Adams failed to catch his lone target in the Bears' 33-22 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday. After an impressive training camp, it took injuries to Allen Robinson (hamstring) and Marquise Goodwin (foot) to see his first action of the season. Unless his role in the offense grows significantly, his fantasy value will be minimal.

  • Bears' Rodney Adams: Promoted to active roster

Adams was elevated to the active roster from the Bears' practice squad Saturday. Adams was waived by the Bears after spending all of training camp with the team, and he has since been a member of the practice squad. With Marquise Goodwin (foot) out and Allen Robinson (hamstring) doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Adams is set to make his regular-season debut. He should be expected to play primarily on special teams.

  • Rodney Adams: Sent to waivers

The Bears waived Adams on Wednesday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. Adams had a solid preseason and displayed chemistry with Justin Fields, so the Bears will likely consider adding him to the practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers. The 2017 fifth-round pick is still looking for a chance to make his NFL debut.

  • Bears' Rodney Adams: Targeted four times

Adams caught three passes for 15 yards in the Bears' 27-24 preseason win over the Titans on Saturday. With tight end Jesper Horsted being the only Chicago receiver with more than 19 yards, the 15 yards Adams posted was mostly due to Justin Fields throwing short passes during the first half. On his fourth target, Adams made a leaping catch, but replay overturned it. After showing solid chemistry with Fields in each preseason game, it would appear that Adams has a realistic chance of making the regular-season roster.

  • Bears' Rodney Adams: Another strong outing

Adams caught three passes for 89 yards and a touchdown in Chicago's 41-15 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday. Adams made an adjustment on an underthrown pass from Andy Dalton, snatching the ball off a defender's helmet, and after the defender fell, he ran unchallenged the rest of the way on a 73-yard touchdown. For the second week in a row, he led the team in receiving, as he's making a push to secure a roster spot, and the fact he was on the field with the first-unit offense seems to indicate that the team is taking a serious look at him. Should he make the team, he won't be facing an insurmountable depth chart behind Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney, so it's possible his fantasy value could climb if he makes the regular-season roster.

  • Bears' Rodney Adams: Solid debut

Quarterback Justin Fields said that he and Adams "have had a great connection in training camp, and I trust him a lot," Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports. Although Adams is battling for a roster spot, the 26-year-old led the Bears with four catches for 57 yards on six targets in the preseason opener. If he can build on his success, he's not facing a monumental climb up a depth chart that has many question marks after Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney, but for now, his fantasy value cannot be fully determined until he plays more in the preseason.

  • Colts' Rodney Adams: Back from retirement

The Colts reinstated Adams from the reserve/retired list Wednesday. The 2017 fifth-round pick didn't play during his rookie season, but he signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts in February 2018 before he stepped away from the game two months later. After nearly two years off of football, Adams is apparently ready to resume his career, so the Colts will get the first opportunity to take an extended look at him. Given that the Colts have a crowded wideout corps, he'll have an uphill battle to make the roster.
