Jaguars' Evan Engram: Gets surgery on shoulder
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Engram underwent surgery Monday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Engram was ruled out for the Jaguars' final four games of the season when he was placed on injured reserve Saturday, though it wasn't immediately known if he would get surgery to address the labrum tear. With the procedure now confirmed, Engram will likely be shut down from activity for a few weeks before beginning a rehab program. Pederson said he expects Engram to be a full participant when the Jaguars begin their offseason program in the spring, when the 30-year-old tight end will be heading into the final season of the three-year, $41.25 million extension he signed in July 2023. After turning in a career-best 114-catch, 963-yard season in 2023, Engram took a big step back statistically in 2024, but he was still a usable fantasy starter in PPR formats with a 47-365-1 receiving line on 64 targets over nine appearances.

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Officially on IR
Engram (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
It was announced earlier this week Engram would miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum, so this is just a transactional move by the Jaguars. The veteran has one year remaining on his contract with zero guarantees on his $14.75 million base salary, which means it's entirely possible the team will move on from Engram given the projected coaching and potential front office changes on the horizon.

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Out for season
Engram (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Jaguars coach Doug Pederson made the announcement Friday, after the tight end missed consecutive practices. Brenton Strange figures to step in as Jacksonville's starter, just as he did earlier this season when Engram was out with a hamstring injury. Engram will have surgery soon and should be ready for Week 1 of 2025, but his future in Jacksonville is uncertain with one year remaining on his contract and no current guarantees for a $14.75 million base salary.

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Misses practice again
Engram (shoulder) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Head coach Doug Pederson noted Wednesday that he anticipated Engram being available for Sunday's game against the Jets, but back-to-back absences from practice make the tight end's status worth tracking, nonetheless. If Engram ends up limited or out this weekend, Brenton Strange and Luke Farrell would be in line to see added snaps Week 15.

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Not practicing Wednesday
Head coach Doug Pederson said Engram won't practice Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.
While Engram will be a spectator for the Jaguars' first practice session of the week, Pederson expects the tight end to play Sunday against the Jets. Engram -- who caught four of his six targets for 33 yards in a Week 14 win over the Titans -- has two more chances to practice ahead of the contest, but unless he's a full participant by Friday, he'll likely head into the weekend with an injury designation.

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Quiet against Titans
Engram recorded four receptions on six targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 10-6 win over the Titans.
Engram's six targets were good for second on the team and also marked his fifth straight game with at least that many opportunities. However, his longest catch went for just 11 yards as the Jacksonville offense struggled to generate explosive plays. Engram has now been held below 40 yards in half of his last eight games.

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Team-high catch total in loss
Engram secured seven of nine targets for 41 yards in the Jaguars' 23-20 loss to the Texans on Sunday.
Engram's catch total was a team-high figure, and the veteran tight end checked in third in targets behind wideouts Parker Washington (12) and Brian Thomas (10). Engram has at least five receptions in all but one of the seven games he's played since returning from a four-week stint on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue. Even if Mac Jones remains the starting quarterback the rest of the way in place of Trevor Lawrence (concussion), the veteran tight end's fantasy outlook should remain solid considering he's typically on the other end of high-percentage throws.
