  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Just 11 yards in Week 2 win

Lazard caught two of four targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Titans. Lazard came back down to earth after a two-touchdown season debut. He played 82 percent of the offensive snaps, but Mike Williams' snap share jumped from 18 to 65 percent, and the former Charger figures to surpass Lazard as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Garrett Wilson once he's fully up to speed. Lazard's proficient blocking and chemistry with Aaron Rodgers should keep him on the field, but the sell-high window on the veteran wideout may have already slammed shut ahead of Thursday's home opener against the Patriots.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

Mike Williams (51 percent rostered) is likely the better Jets receiver to stash since he could play a prominent role when fully healthy, but he's still working his way back from last year's torn ACL. Williams was used more as a decoy in Week 1 at San Francisco and didn't receive a target. Lazard, meanwhile, had a huge game with six catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets, but one score came on a free play when the 49ers jumped offsides, with the second touchdown in garbage time from Tyrod Taylor. Don't chase this production from Lazard, but he is worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB to see what happens until Williams is back to his normal self.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Scores twice in Rodgers' return

Lazard caught six of nine targets for 89 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 32-19 loss to the 49ers. Early on, Lazard looked like the same player that caught just 23 of 49 targets for 311 yards last season, as he dropped a catchable ball on third down to end the Jets' opening drive and finished without a catch on two first-half targets. He turned things around in the second half, rekindling his chemistry with Aaron Rodgers from their Packers days with a 26-yard catch and a 36-yard touchdown reception in a four-play span. Lazard added a three-yard touchdown catch in the final minute from backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who replaced Rodgers for mop-up duty with the game out of reach. It took Lazard just one game to double last season's touchdown total, and he should continue to play a prominent role Week 2 against the Titans, as the Jets are bringing fellow wide receiver Mike Williams (zero targets) along slowly early in the season as Williams recovers from last September's ACL tear.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Sits first two preseason games

Lazard didn't play in Saturday's 15-12 preseason win over the Panthers. Lazard is among numerous offensive players who have sat out the Jets' first two preseason games. Despite mustering a meager 311 receiving yards in 2023, he's a lock to make the team in 2024, and the 28-year-old wide receiver is hoping that the return of Aaron Rodgers under center will elevate the entire offense. Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams (knee) are projected to open the season as starters on the outside with Lazard -- who had 788 yards and six touchdowns with Rodgers as his quarterback in Green Bay in 2022 -- in a bench role.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Big-money bust in 2023

Lazard finished the season with 23 catches for 311 yards and one touchdown on 49 targets. Lazard signed a four-year, $44 million contract with the Jets in the offseason and was expected to offer a familiar face on the outside for Aaron Rodgers, but after Rodgers tore his Achilles in Week 1, Lazard failed to establish any chemistry with New York's other quarterbacks despite handling a starting role on the outside for most of the season. He appeared in 14 games, sitting two out as a healthy scratch and missing one due to an illness. The Jets have almost no choice but to bring Lazard back given his contract, but they'll almost certainly look for an upgrade at wide receiver to start opposite Garrett Wilson and push Lazard down the depth chart in 2024.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Inactive Sunday

Lazard (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's season finale against the Patriots. Lazard didn't carry an injury designation ahead of the contest, so he's a healthy scratch in Week 18. In his absence, Garrett Wilson, Jason Brownlee, Xavier Gipson, Irvin Charles and Randall Cobb are the Jets' available WRs versus New England.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Overcomes illness

Lazard (illness) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Lazard was inactive for the Jets' Week 17 loss to the Browns while he was under the weather, but he looks like he'll be ready to play in the season finale Sunday versus the Patriots. It's been a forgettable first season with the Jets for the veteran wideout, who has produced a meager 23-311-1 receiving line on 49 targets after signing with New York to be Garrett Wilson's top running mate out wide.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Inactive Thursday

Lazard (illness) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Browns. After being listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice due to an illness, the veteran wideout was deemed questionable for Thursday's contest. With Lazard officially sidelined Week 17, Garrett Wilson, Jason Brownlee and Xavier Gipson are in line to lead the Jets' Week 17 WR corps, with Irvin Charles and Randall Cobb also on hand to mix in.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Not expected to play Thursday

Lazard (illness) isn't in line to play Thursday against the Browns, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. After missing Wednesday's practice due to an illness, the wideout was deemed questionable for the contest. Lazard apparently didn't make enough progress in his recovery from the ailment to suit up Thursday, so he's expected to be included among the Jets' Week 17 inactives, which will be released 90 minutes prior to the game's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Randall Cobb is expected to suit up Thursday to bolster the Jets' depth at receiver in Lazard's absence.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Questionable for Thursday

Lazard is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Browns with an illness. Lazard didn't appear on either of the Jets' first two Week 17 injury report, but he was listed as a non-participant Wednesday on account of the illness. The wideout's status for Thursday's game is thus cloudy at the moment, with clarity coming once the team releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Even if he plays, Lazard -- who didn't catch his lone target in the Jets' Week 16 win over the Commanders -- is off the fantasy radar in all but the deepest of formats.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Minimal usage in Week 16 win

Lazard didn't catch his lone target in Sunday's 30-28 win over the Commanders. Lazard was on the field for only 27 percent of offensive snaps while Jason Brownlee (82 percent) saw most of the playing time opposite Garrett Wilson (96 percent). Lazard hasn't topped 21 receiving yards in a game since Week 8, and his modest usage will make it tough to bounce back Thursday in Cleveland.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Three catches in Week 15 loss

Lazard caught three of six targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 30-0 loss to the Dolphins. Lazard posted his highest yardage total since Week 8. He continues to play a starting role on the outside, but Lazard hasn't made much of his opportunities, and the Jets' poor quarterback play hasn't helped matters. Zach Wilson was placed in concussion protocol after exiting Sunday's loss in the first half, so Trevor Siemian could be Lazard's quarterback Week 16 against the Commanders.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Invisible in return from benching

Lazard didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 13-8 loss to the Falcons. Lazard returned to a starting role on the outside after being benched for the previous game, but the benching didn't have its intended effect of sparking a renaissance from the struggling wide receiver. Garrett Wilson and Xavier Gipson combined for 127 receiving yards, while no other wide receiver had a catch for the Jets, who dropped to 4-8 heading into a Week 14 visit from the 7-5 Texans.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Set to be active Week 13

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that Lazard will suit up for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. Lazard was a heathy inactive for the Jets' Week 12 loss to the Dolphins, a likely result of the veteran wide receiver having struggled with drops and ill-timed penalties in his first season with the Jets. Prior to the benching, Lazard had a consistent starting role on the outside opposite Garrett Wilson, but it's possible that the 4-7 Jets will look to work rookie Jason Brownlee in more at Lazard's expense. Brownlee played all but one of the Jets' offensive snaps against Miami with Lazard inactive.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Could be inactive Friday

Lazard is expected to be inactive Friday against the Dolphins, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.tv. We'll await confirmation of Lazard's status, which will arrive when inactives are posted ahead of the Jets' 3 p.m. ET kickoff, but if the wideout is sidelined, Xavier Gipson, Jason Brownlee, Irvin Charles and Randall Cobb would be candidates to log Week 12 snaps behind top WR option Garrett Wilson.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Drops lone Week 11 target

Lazard failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Bills. Lazard couldn't corral a ball that hit him in the hands as his struggles with drops continued. With Garrett Wilson playing through an elbow injury, Lazard had an opportunity to step up, but it's hard to blame the team's quarterbacks for looking elsewhere with the veteran wideout struggling to catch the ball. Regardless of whether Zach Wilson or Tim Boyle starts under center for the Jets in Week 12, Lazard will have limited fantasy appeal against the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Disappearing act continues

Lazard caught one of five targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 16-12 loss to the Raiders. Lazard was the intended target on Zach Wilson's red-zone interception with 1:22 left in the fourth quarter. The 27-year-old wide receiver has been held to fewer than 20 yards in three of the last four games. In Week 11, Lazard will face a Bills defense against which he had 46 receiving yards back in Week 11 -- his second-highest total of the season.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Still limited Thursday

Lazard (knee) remained a limited participant at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Lazard continues to manage a knee issue that he played through in Monday's loss to the Chargers, and he'll presumably need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid carrying an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders. While operating as the Jets' No. 2 wide receiver, Lazard -- who has yet to top three catches in a game this season -- has compiled a 19-273-1 receiving line on 35 targets through eight contests.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Deemed limited Wednesday

Lazard (knee) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Lazard approached Monday's loss to the Chargers listed as questionable with a knee injury, but was able to suit up and played 72 of a possible 81 snaps on offense en route to catching two of his six targets for 18 yards. With no reported setbacks coming out of the game, Lazard's listed limitations Wednesday may have been indicative of load management ahead of this weekend's game against the Raiders.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: More drops and penalties Monday

Lazard (knee) caught two of six targets for 18 yards in Monday's 27-6 loss to the Chargers. Penalties and drops have both been all too common for Lazard in 2023, and they remained bugaboos for him Monday. Lazard was whistled for an illegal shift and a hold to wipe out Breece Hall runs of 14 and six yards, in addition to having a pass clank off his hands. New York has few alternatives to turn to opposite Garrett Wilson at wide receiver, so Lazard should continue to see significant action Week 10 against the Raiders and beyond, but the former Packer certainly isn't living up to the four-year, $44 million contract he signed in March.
