  • Nick Brossette: Let go from Lions' practice squad

Brossette was released from the Lions' practice squad Tuesday. Detroit added Brossette to the practice squad earlier this month after the LSU product had a busy preseason with New England. His release from said practice squad is not good news for his already minimal dynasty value.

  • Nick Brossette: Lands on practice squad

Brossette signed with the Lions' practice squad Thursday. Brossette was waived by the Patriots to kick off September and now resurfaces in Detroit. His spot on the practice squad comes at the expense of fellow running back David Williams, who was released from the unit in a corresponding move.

  • Nick Brossette: Cut by Patriots

Brossette was waived by New England on Saturday. Brossette was facing an uphill battle to make the roster, with at least four players ahead of him with valuable NFL experience under their belts. Now that he's been let go, he could be claimed off waivers Sunday, or perhaps resurface on the Patriots' practice squad.

  • Patriots' Nick Brossette: Extended look in preseason finale

Brossette rushed 20 times for 62 yards and a touchdown while catching all four of his targets for 18 yards in Thursday's 31-29 loss to the Giants in the preseason finale. Brosette remains unlikely to make the final roster, but he got one final chance to strut his stuff, working as the lead back throughout the contest. He powered in a one-yard touchdown during New England's 26-0 second-quarter run.

  • Patriots' Nick Brossette: Logs 22 carries Thursday

Brossette carried 22 times for 66 yards and a TD in Thursday's preseason opener, a 31-3 win over the Lions. Brossette also converted a two-point conversion in the contest. With Sony Michel, James White, Damien Harris, Rex Burkhead and Brandon Bolden also in the team's backfield mix, the odds are against Brossette making the Patriots' final roster. That said, if he ends up being cut by the team, the LSU product would be a candidate for the practice squad.

  • Nick Brossette: Heading to New England

The Patriots are expected to sign Brossette as an undrafted free agent. Brossette was finally able to lead the LSU backfield in 2018 after he was stuck behind Leonard Fournette for much of his career. Brossette made the most of his opportunity, rushing for 1,039 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 games for the Tigers. He will face an uphill battle for a roster spot, especially after the Patriots drafted Alabama product Damien Harris in the third round.
