  • Darrell Henderson: Gets cut from practice squad

The Rams cut Henderson from their practice squad Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Rams signed long snapper Alex Matheson to their practice squad Tuesday. Henderson is set to become a free agent and will now have to look for another opportunity with a different team.

  • Darrell Henderson: Returns to Rams' practice squad

The Rams signed Henderson to their practice squad Wednesday. With Kyren Williams (ankle) poised to return from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game in Arizona, the Rams made two procedural moves Tuesday, waiving Henderson and cutting Cameron McCutcheon from the practice squad. One day later, Henderson is taking McCutcheon's spot on the practice squad and now is a candidate to be elevated for Week 12 action, which would mark his third and final elevation of the campaign.

  • Darrell Henderson: Gets cut

The Rams waived Henderson on Tuesday. With Kyren Williams (ankle) poised to return from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game at Arizona, Henderson is getting cut to open up a spot on the Rams' active roster. At the same time, L.A. cut cornerback Cameron McCutcheon from its practice squad, seemingly freeing up a spot there for Henderson, assuming he clears waivers. With Williams out Weeks 7 through 10, Henderson started on all four occasions and totaled 215 yards from scrimmage with two rushing TDs on 56 touches.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson Jr.: Sleeper RBs

This should be the final game for Henderson and Royce Freeman to split the role as the best running backs for the Rams with Kyren Williams (ankle) eligible to return in Week 12. I like Henderson better than Freeman given his production in the passing game, and Henderson has scored at least 11.5 PPR points in two of three games since Williams went down. Seattle has allowed six running backs to score at least 11.5 PPR points in the past four games, and Williams had 17.4 PPR points against the Seahawks in Week 1. Henderson should be considered a borderline starter in all leagues in this matchup, with Freeman as a potential flex option.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson Jr.: Sit Him (Lineup Decisions)

Motivated to stick around in this league and coming off of a bye with fresh legs, the situation isn't too bad for Henderson, but his upside for a big game is definitely limited. At best he's a low-end RB2 you could start in a pinch or flex in a non- or half-PPR league. I'd rather start Ty Chandler, Jerome Ford and James Cook.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Gets 12 touches

Henderson rushed 10 times for 19 yards and caught both of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Packers. Henderson struggled to make a meaningful impact as Los Angeles' offense was ineffective as a whole under quarterback Brett Rypien. Although he hasn't been very efficient since rejoining the Rams, Henderson and Royce Freeman figure to remain the team's top tailbacks as long as Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) are sidelined.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson Jr.: RBs to Start

We'll see what happens with the Rams if Matthew Stafford (thumb) can't play in Week 9 at Green Bay, but I expect Henderson and Royce Freeman to be a focal point of the offense no matter what. It's a good matchup since the Packers are No. 7 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and five running backs have scored at least 12.6 PPR points against Green Bay this year. Henderson has scored at least 11.5 PPR points in two games since joining the Rams in place of the injured Kyren Williams (ankle), and Henderson should be a factor in the passing game. He had three catches for 54 yards on three targets in Week 8 against Dallas, and he continues to get the lion's share of touches compared to Freeman. That being said, I also like Freeman as a sleeper in this matchup.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Joins active roster

The Rams signed Henderson off their practice squad Wednesday. With Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) on injured reserve, Henderson and Royce Freeman have split the reps out of the Rams backfield the last two games. During that stretch, Henderson has turned 34 touches into 151 yards from scrimmage and one rushing score, while Freeman has had 21 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown himself. Expect the breakdown between Henderson and Freeman to continue for as long as Williams and Rivers are sidelined.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Returns to practice squad

Henderson reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction report. For the second straight game, Henderson and Royce Freeman split L.A.'s backfield reps with Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) on injured reserve. Henderson's 29 (of 62) offensive snaps translated to 15 touches for 85 yards from scrimmage, while Freeman's 33 plays went for nine carries for 44 yards and one touchdown. The Rams have one elevation remaining to use on Henderson, so expect him to rejoin the active roster for Sunday's visit to Green Bay.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Gets it done as pass catcher

Henderson rushed the ball 12 times for 31 yards in Sunday's 43-20 loss to Dallas. He added three catches for 54 yards. Henderson was out-produced on the ground by Royce Freeman, though he still had 15 touches compared to Freeman's nine. In particular, his work in the passing game stood out as he led the team in receiving yards. While that's unlikely to repeat itself, Henderson has shown multiple paths to fantasy value in two games since taking over as the lead back in the absence of Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee).

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Elevated to active roster

Henderson was elevated to the Rams' active roster Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. No surprise here, as Henderson started at running back for Los Angeles in Week 7 before subsequently reverting to the practice squad. He ultimately saw 68 snaps and 19 touches en route to 66 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown. With both Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) still on injured reserve, Henderson could be in line for a similar workload. Still, Royce Freeman, who got 16 carries for 66 yards on 29 snaps in the same game, figures to again be involved. It remains to be seen if Myles Gaskin or Zach Evans fits into the equation at all as well.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson Jr.: Bust Candidate (Lineup Decisions)

Henderson: Henderson is a low-end starter with bust potential because of not only the matchup but the likely split of work with Freeman and the potential pitfall of not being a good fit for this week's game. However, his impact in the passing game should get him on the field more than Freeman and should lead to more touches and catches. That would especially come in handy if the Rams are trailing late. He's a borderline RB2/RB3 who I would start ahead of the Panthers RBs, Rachaad White and the Texans RBs, as well as Royce Freeman. But I'd take Gus Edwards, Javonte Williams and Alexander Mattison over Henderson in PPR and non-PPR.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson Jr.: RBs to Start

Henderson came off the street to reunite with the Rams in Week 7 after Kyren Williams (ankle) was placed on injured reserve, and Henderson had 18 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown and one catch for 5 yards on two targets against the Steelers. He's going to split touches with Royce Freeman again in Week 8 at Dallas, but Henderson played 57 percent of the snaps and should get the majority of touches again. It's not an easy matchup against the Cowboys, who have allowed just four running backs this season to score at least 12.6 PPR points. But the Rams have now had a running back score at least 13.6 PPR points in five of seven games this season, and Henderson is worth using as a No. 2 running back in all leagues.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson Jr.: Week 8 Adds (RB Preview)

This is a bad matchup and Henderson may only have two more starts before Kyren Williams returns, plus Royce Freeman is going to play a role. Those are all the disclaimers as to why you shouldn't spend too much FAB on Henderson. But the Rams' running back position has been one of the most profitable in Fantasy this season, and Henderson looks like the RB1 there. Freeman is a fine consolation prize if you miss the top options.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson Jr.: Week 8 Waiver Priority List

The No. 1 running back for the Rams while Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) are out is Henderson, and he did well in his 2023 debut against Pittsburgh with 18 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown and one catch for 5 yards on two targets. He shared playing time with Royce Freeman, who had 12 carries for 66 yards, but Henderson played 57 percent of the snaps compared to 43 percent for Freeman. It's not a bad idea to add Freeman (24 percent rostered) in deeper leagues, but Henderson is someone Sean McVay trusts from his first stint with the Rams. He has three more games until Williams is back, and Henderson has the potential to be a No. 2 running back in all leagues. He's worth adding for 20 percent of your FAB.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Moves back to practice squad

Henderson reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. In less than one week, Henderson returned to the Rams via a practice-squad contract last Tuesday, was elevated to the active roster Saturday and started at running back for the team Sunday against the Steelers. He then paced L.A. running backs in snaps (39 of 68) and touches (19) en route to 66 yards from scrimmage and a rushing TD in Week 7. Henderson appears to be the biggest beneficiary of both Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) landing on injured reserve last week, but Royce Freeman (12 carries for 66 yards on 29 snaps) also figures to be involved, and coach Sean McVay told Greg Beacham of the Associated Press on Monday that "we'll see how Myles [Gaskin] and Zach [Evans] fit into that equation" this coming Sunday at Dallas.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Paces new-look backfield

Henderson rushed the ball 18 times for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Steelers. He added one reception for five yards. Henderson was the first back to get a carry in the Rams' backfield, and he led Royce Freeman in touches 19-12. His longest gain of the day went for 15 yards, and he also found the end zone midway through the fourth quarter on a one-yard plunge. With both Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) on injured reserve, Henderson should have the chance to maintain significant volume for at least the next three games.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Coach says he's playing Week 7

Coach Sean McVay said Friday that Henderson will be active for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Adam Grosbard of the Orange County Register reports. Henderson signed with the Rams' practice squad Tuesday following injuries to Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee). McVay said the team still is deciding whether to dress only three or all four of Henderson, Zach Evans, Royce Freeman and Myles Gaskin, but Henderson will be among the team's active running backs. Confirmation of Henderson's availability will be provided when the Rams either elevate him from the practice squad or sign him to the roster by Saturday afternoon.

  • Darrell Henderson: Makes return to L.A.

The Rams signed Henderson to their practice squad Tuesday. With the Rams having traded Cam Akers to the Vikings earlier this season and the top two options on the backfield depth chart -- Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) -- both looking unlikely to be available in Week 7 versus the Steelers, the team will bring back a familiar face in Henderson. Before being waived last November, he spent four seasons with the Rams, appearing in 50 regular-season games and scoring 17 touchdowns while averaging 4.4 yards on 396 carries and 7.2 yards on 66 catches. Though Henderson won't be added to the 53-man roster immediately, his familiarity with head coach Sean McVay's playbook will make him a candidate for elevation ahead of Sunday's game once he gets a week of practice under his belt. The Rams currently have rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans and Royce Freeman as the lone healthy running backs on their roster.

  • Darrell Henderson: Working out in Indianapolis

The Colts worked out Henderson on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. It's an interesting development with Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Zack Moss (forearm) and Evan Hull (knee) all dealing with injuries. Henderson has managed a respectable 4.4 yards per carry in his career, so it would be understandable if Indianapolis viewed him as a worthwhile addition.
