    The Chargers signed Weaver to the practice squad Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Weaver gives the Chargers some edge-rushing depth after Khalil Mack was lost to injured reserve with an elbow injury earlier this week. Weaver has appeared in 36 career regular-season contests, recording 5.5 sacks.

    Weaver is in line to sign a one-year contract with New York, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Weaver, a 2021 fourth-round pick, spent the first three seasons of his career in Tennessee before being waived, then appearing in just three games with the Texans in 2024. He'll now work to secure a depth role in the Jets' pass rush rotation.
