  • Chris Oladokun: Sticking with KC on practice squad

Oladokun signed with Kansas City's practice squad Wednesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Oladokun will provide organizational depth under center behind rostered quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew. Oladokun went unclaimed after being waived Tuesday.

  • Chiefs' Chris Oladokun: Inks future deal with Kansas City

Kansas City signed Oladokun to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Charles Goldman of A to Z sports reports. After failing to make the team's 53-man roster at the end of training camp, Oladokun was invited back by Kansas City in mid-October to join the practice squad. He was elevated for Week 18 against the Broncos to serve as the backup quarterback behind Carson Wentz while Patrick Mahomes rested. Oladokun will participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp but seems highly unlikely to win the No. 2 quarterback job behind Mahomes.

  • Chiefs' Chris Oladokun: Gets elevation for Week 18

The Chiefs elevated Oladokun from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Patrick Mahomes (ankle) isn't expected to play Sunday against Denver with Kansas City having wrapped up the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed, so the Chiefs are likely to deploy Oladokun as their backup QB behind Carson Wentz. Oladokun has yet to see action in an NFL game, and he's spent the last two years with Kansas City's practice squad. He probably won't see much, if any, action Sunday unless Wentz is forced to exit the contest.

  • Chris Oladokun: Gets let go

Oladokun was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Oladokun served as a practice-squad quarterback for Kansas City last season and is a likely candidate to do so again in 2024 after not making the 53-man roster.

  • Chris Oladokun: Reverts to practice squad

The Chiefs reverted Oladokun to the practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Oladokun was called up for the Chiefs' regular-season finale against the Chargers with Patrick Mahomes (ankle) sitting out for the contest. Oladokun served as the backup to Blaine Gabbert but didn't see the field.

  • Chiefs' Chris Oladokun: Staying in Kansas City

The Chiefs signed Oladokun to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Oladokun spend the 2022 season on Kansas City's practice squad, but he wasn't ultimately called up for in-game action. With longtime backup Chad Henne having announced his retirement, however, Oladokun could potentially have an opportunity to compete for an elevated role this offseason.

  • Steelers' Chris Oladokun: QB depth in Steel City

The Steelers selected Oladokun in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 241st overall. The Steelers found their quarterback of the future in the first round with Kenny Pickett, but they're hoping to develop Oladokun -- who spent time at South Florida and Samford before settling in at South Dakota State as a sixth-year senior -- into a suitable backup. Oladokun maneuvers well in and out of the pocket, and he possesses a quick release that helps when he's throwing off base or in the face of pressure. He finished with 3,164 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions at SDSU, adding 73 carries for 166 yards and two scores on the ground. Oladokun will be 25 years old when the season starts and will likely battle Mason Rudolph for the No. 3 role behind Pickett and Mitch Trubisky.
