  • Falcons' Malik Verdon: Has been participating in OTAs

Verdon (shoulder) has been taking part in Atlanta's OTAs.

Verdon signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent last May but didn't see any time during his rookie campaign. He began the season on the reserve/non-football injury list, and though he was designated to return in mid-November, Verdon ultimately wasn't activated. Verdon now appears to be back to health and will have a chance during the preseason to compete for a depth spot in the Falcons' secondary.

  • Falcons' Malik Verdon: Won't return in Week 13

Verdon (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Jets, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Verdon has not played this season due to a shoulder injury, but he's practiced in full over the last two weeks, suggesting a return is coming soon. While the Iowa State product remains sidelined in Week 13, expect Jordan Fuller to operate as the Falcons' lone reserve free safety.

  • Falcons' Malik Verdon: Staying on NFI list

Verdon (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

Verdon ended the week with back-to-back full practices, but he is not quite ready to make his season debut. He opened the season on the NFI list due to a shoulder injury he presumably sustained during the offseason. The undrafted rookie's next chance to play is Week 13 against the Jets on Sunday, Nov. 30.

Verdon (shoulder) is officially listed as out for Sunday's game versus the Panthers, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Verdon will have to wait at least one more week to make his NFL debut as he continues to tend to a nagging shoulder injury. His next chance to be activated from Atlanta's NFI list will be for Week 12 at New Orleans.

  • Falcons' Malik Verdon: Returns to practice

Verdon (shoulder) was designated to return from the reserve/non-football injury list Wednesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.

Verdon has been sidelined for his entire rookie season after signing with Atlanta as an undrafted free agent. He logged a limited practice in his return Wednesday, and he will have 21 days to be activated, or he'll be returned to the NFI list for the rest of the campaign.

  • Falcons' Malik Verdon: Will miss at least four games

The Falcons moved Verdon to the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday, Terrin Waack, Will McFadden and Tori McElhaney of the team's official site report.

Verdon missed all of training camp due to an undisclosed issue. By starting the season on the NFI list, he'll be forced to miss at least the first four games of the regular season, making Week 6 against the Bills on Monday, Oct. 13 the earliest he can return.

  • Falcons' Malik Verdon: Placed on NFI list

Atlanta placed Verdon (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list Thursday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.

The severity of Verdon's injury isn't known, but he'll be eligible to participate in practices and preseason games once he's fully recovered.
