Edwards signed with the Rams in May as an undrafted free agent and opted to stick around on the practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He did not appear in a single game during his rookie season, but he'll be on the Rams' 90-man roster at the start of the offseason, giving him the opportunity to make an impression on the coaching staff during OTAs and minicamp.

Edwards wasn't able to make the Rams' 53-man roster after logging four catches (on six targets) for 57 yards and one touchdown in two preseason games. He'll stay in Los Angeles as a member of the Rams' practice squad, where the undrafted rookie will be eligible for elevation to the active roster if the team needs depth at wide receiver.

Edwards secured one of two targets for 25 yards during Saturday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Browns.
Notably, Edwards didn't see his first target until the second half on a day the Rams' top six wideouts all were given the day off. Brennan Presley once again led the Rams receivers in yardage with 51 yards on three catches, and Britain Covey saw six targets thrown his way, tied for the team high with Drake Stoops. Edwards, a UDFA out of Louisiana Tech, has been looking at an uphill battle to make it on the 53-man roster given the wealth of talent the Rams have at wide receiver, and a fairly pedestrian preseason (outside of his game-winning touchdown catch last week) may not be enough to push the needle in favor of snagging one of the final roster spots.
