Roc Taylor: Let go by Carolina
The Panthers waived Taylor on Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Taylor had just signed with the team earlier this month but is now headed to waivers. The 23-year-old could be a candidate to land on Carolina's practice squad should he go unclaimed on waivers.

Panthers' Roc Taylor: Catches on with Carolina
The Panthers signed Taylor to a contract Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Taylor was not on an NFL team roster or practice squad during the 2025 season. He played for the Columbus Aviators in the UFL before a stint in the CFL with the Ottawa Redblacks, eventually being released in May. Now in Carolina, Taylor will have the opportunity to audition for a spot on the Panthers' 53-man roster or practice squad by the end of training camp.

Roc Taylor: Waived despite decent preseason
Taylor was waived by the Steelers on Monday.
Taylor had 38 receiving yards in Pittsburgh's first preseason game against the Jaguars and 39 receiving yards in the second against Tampa Bay, but he evidently didn't do enough to convince Pittsburgh's coaching staff to keep him on the team. The undrafted rookie out of Memphis will be free to sign with any NFL team if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Steelers' Roc Taylor: Logs 38 yards in victory
Taylor secured two of three targets for 38 yards during Saturday's 31-25 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Taylor signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in April following a productive collegiate career at Memphis. He isn't guaranteed to make Pittsburgh's 53-man roster in 2025, but he's impressed through his size and physicality early in training camp. The 22-year-old saw some looks in the third quarter of Saturday's matchup, and it's possible that he continues to earn some work ahead of the regular season. While Taylor's role is far from guaranteed, the undrafted rookie could make a case for some regular-season playing time if he continues to impress in camp, as the Steelers don't yet have many receivers locked into roles behind DK Metcalf heading into 2025.
