  • Sidy Sow: Surprise starter Week 10

Sow started at right guard and was removed after nine snaps in Week 10's win over the Jaguars, per Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle. In a surprising move, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans opted to start Sow, a practice squad player, ahead of Laken Tomlinson and Juice Scruggs. The move backfired and Sow was removed early in the game while Scruggs finished out at right guard. That Ryans started a practice-squad player indicates the coach hasn't been pleased with how Scruggs and Tomlinson have looked in practice or games.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Making season debut

Sow (ankle) is active Sunday against the 49ers. Sow has yet to play this season while tending to the injury he suffered in the team's final preseason game. His return should be a boost to the Patriots' offensive line, as he takes over at left guard.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Returns to field

Sow (ankle) will practice Monday, Chris Mason of The Springfield Republican reports. Sow has been out of action since suffering the injury in the Patriots' final preseason game. His return to practice early in the week could put him on a trajectory to make his season debut this Sunday against the 49ers, although more clarity on the chances of that happening likely won't come until the tail end of the week.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Out again for Week 2

Sow (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports. Sow will miss his second consecutive game to open the season after he was injured during the preseason. The Patriots will likely again turn to veteran Michael Jordan as the starting left guard in Sow's place.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Likely out Sunday

Sow (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Sow has been out of action since suffering an ankle injury in the Patriots' final preseason game. His extended absence is likely to keep him out for Week 2 against the Seahawks, even if he can return to the field in some form Friday. For Week 1, New England elevated Michael Jordan from the practice squad and gave him the start at left guard, which will likely be the plan again Sunday if Sow ultimately sits out a second straight game.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Held out Wednesday

Sow (ankle) missed Wednesday's practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Sow has yet to return to the field after sustaining an ankle injury during the Patriots' preseason finale Aug. 25. While the 26-year-old offensive lineman continues to recover, expect Zachary Thomas to work at left guard with New England's first-team offense.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Ruled out with ankle injury

Sow (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday night's preseason game against the Commanders. Sow went down in the second quarter. There should be more info on the second-year guard's injury in the coming days, but Sow would be difficult to replace on a New England offensive line that has been working all summer to find the right combination with which to head into Week 1.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Leaves with ankle injury

Sow exited Sunday night's preseason game against the Commanders with an ankle injury and is questionable to return. Sow has been running as New England's starting left guard all summer. For an offensive line that is trying to find the right combination up front, losing Sow to any sort of multi-week injury would be a big deal. A fourth-round pick in 2023, Sow started 13 games as a rookie.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Good to go Sunday

Sow (concussion) was removed from the Patriots' injury report ahead of Sunday's game against Dallas. New England will be happy to have one of its top rotational offensive linemen back, as the 25-year-old seems to have recovered from the concussion that held him out the previous two weeks. Guard Cole Strange (knee) is listed as questionable this coming Sunday, and Sow could very well fill in if he's unable to suit up.

  • Patriots' Sidy Sow: Out for Week 3

Sow (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Jets. Sow will miss his second game in a row after sustaining a concussion in Week 1 against the Eagles. His depth will be sorely missed with guards Cole Strange (knee) and Mike Onwenu (ankle) both listed as questionable for Sunday's bout.
