Falcons' DeAngelo Malone: Moved to reserve PUP list
The Falcons placed Malone (undisclosed) on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Malone was initially placed on the active/PUP list this past Wednesday due to an undisclosed injury. Now that he's on the reserve/PUP, Malone will be required to miss the entire 2026 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Falcons. He appeared in nine regular-season games for Atlanta last year and finished with eight tackles (two solo) and one interception.

Falcons' DeAngelo Malone: Working through injury
Malone (undisclosed) was placed on the Falcons' active/PUP list Wednesday.
The nature and severity of Malone's injury have not been announced, but the 2022 third-rounder will be eligible to participate in practice and preseason games once he's fully healthy. The 26-year-old edge rusher appeared in nine regular-season games for the Falcons last season, operating primarily on special teams, before he was placed on injured reserve in November. Malone has made 58 career regular-season appearances across four seasons, producing 59 tackles (32 solo), including 3.0 sacks.

Malone suffered the ankle injury in Sunday's loss to the Colts. While coach Raheem Morris called the injury significant, an exact diagnosis is unclear. Malone will now be out until at least Week 15.

Falcons' DeAngelo Malone: Headed to Peach State
The Falcons selected Malone in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 82nd overall.
Malone is probably too small to play much defensive end at 6-foot-3, 243 pounds, but the Western Kentucky product was exceptionally productive as an edge defender in college and will get every chance to emerge as an eventual starting outside linebacker in Atlanta's 3-4.
