Kansas City waived Knox on Tuesday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Last year, Knox went undrafted out of Marshall and spent training camp with the Cowboys, but he was waived at the start of the regular season. The wideout joined Kansas City via a reserve/future contract this offseason, but he couldn't stick around following the conclusion of rookie minicamp.

Chiefs' Brenden Knox: Inks futures deal
Knox was signed to a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Knox went undrafted out of Marshall and spent training camp with the Cowboys, but he was unable to stick around. Knox will now work to earn himself a role in the Chiefs' backfield next season.

Cowboys' Brenden Knox: Significant role on tap Sunday
Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore said Knox and JaQuan Hardy will have "plenty" of carries in Sunday's preseason finale against the Jaguars, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Knox has 14 carries for 39 yards through the first three preseason games, and he's set to see significant reps in Sunday's exhibition finale. Knox and Hardy are both rookie UDFAs battling to replace Rico Dowdle (hip) as the No. 3 running back for Dallas.
