The Jets signed Twyman to a contract Sunday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
The move comes with the Jets placing wide receiver Malik Taylor (undisclosed) on injured reserve. Twyman was a sixth-round selection by the Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he has not played a single NFL snap. He was part of Miami's training camp in 2023 but did not make the Dolphins' 53-man roster and was not invited to their practice squad. Twyman will compete for a depth spot on the Jets' defensive line behind starters Quinnen Williams (shoulder) and Javon Kinlaw.

Jaylen Twyman: Waived by Vikings
Rotowire
The Vikings waived Twyman (pelvis) with a non-football injury designation Monday.
Minnesota is hoping that Twyman will clear waivers, in which case the team can stash him on the NFI list. The rookie sixth-round pick is recovering from four gunshot wounds that he suffered in June, but there's a chance he'll be able to play at some point this season.

Vikings' Jaylen Twyman: Could play this season
Rotowire
Twyman (undisclosed) will report to training camp Sunday and still has a chance to suit up this season, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Twyman is reportedly making encouraging progress in his recovery from gunshot wounds suffered June 21. The rookie sixth-round pick was able to avoid surgery in his recovery process, and the Vikings reportedly expect him to return to 100 percent health. That said, Minnesota could opt to have Twyman begin camp on the non-football injury list.
