  • Chargers' Mark Webb: Signs futures deal

The Chargers signed Webb (knee) to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Webb dealt with a knee injury during training camp and remained on the Chargers' practice squad throughout the entire 2022 campaign. He appears to be healthy now, and with his new contract, the 2021 seventh-round pick will have a chance to compete for a larger role during the upcoming offseason.

  • Chargers' Mark Webb: Designated to return

Webb (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Webb spent just over a month on IR but was cleared to return to practice Wednesday. It's not yet clear whether the safety will be back on the field for Sunday's game against Denver.

  • Chargers' Mark Webb: Doubtful for Sunday

Webb (knee) is doubtful to play Sunday against the Steelers. Webb was inactive last week against the Vikings and didn't practice this week, so it'd be quite a surprise if he ends up playing. If he can't go, then the Chargers would be extremely thin at safety considering Trey Marshall (ankle) is questionable and Alohi Gilman (quadriceps) is also doubtful.

  • Chargers' Mark Webb: Absent from injury report

Webb (hamstring) wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. The rookie seventh-round pick made the 53-man roster out of training camp. With Derwin James and Nasir Adderley in the fold, Webb is expected to mostly contribute on special teams to start the year.
