Raiders' Ashton Jeanty: Sits out Thursday's preseason game
Jeanty was among the Raiders starters who rested in Thursday's 22-20 preseason win over Houston, according to The Associated Press.
With Kirk Cousins, Maxx Crosby and Brock Bowers also resting, Jeanty's absence is a good sign for his regular-season workload. Backup running back Mike Washington broke off a long run for the second time in as many preseason games, but it's unclear if he'll be a significant part of the offense come Week 1 against Miami.

Raiders' Ashton Jeanty: Solid in preseason cameo
Jeanty rushed three times for 16 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Raiders' 27-14 preseason loss to the Cardinals on Thursday.
Jeanty was the first running back in the game for the Raiders and saw all his touches on Las Vegas' first drive before his night came to a quick end. The 2025 first-round pick is coming off a solid rookie campaign where he arguably maximized his opportunities on a struggling team in need of a talent infusion, and the offseason addition of star center Tyler Linderbaum is expected to make a significant impact on the blocking Jeanty enjoy as he carries out his clear-cut No. 1 role in 2026.

Raiders' Ashton Jeanty: Starters in line to play Thursday
Coach Klint Kubiak said Tuesday that the Raiders' starters -- a group that would include Jeanty -- are in line to play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Cardinals, Sam Warren of The Athletic reports.
It remains to be seen how much work Jeanty is in store for versus Arizona, but once he gets his reps, his backups will presumably see plenty of action. As the coming campaign approaches, Jeanty is positioned for a high-volume role in the Las Vegas offense, one that could include more work in the passing game, per Dan Graziano of ESPN.com. Currently backing up Jeanty are Mike Washington, Dylan Laube, Dare Ogunbowale and Roman Hemby.
