All eyes will be on Price this season to see if he can take over as the lead running back in Seattle. Kenneth Walker III is now in Kansas City, and Zach Charbonnet (knee) is expected to be out early in the season. Price was selected in Round 1 of the NFL Draft out of Notre Dame, and there will be lofty expectations for his production in Fantasy and reality. The role should be fantastic, and Price just has to prove he's better than backups Emanuel Wilson and George Holani, especially since Charbonnet might not play until later in the season. But speaking of backups, Price was the backup for the Irish behind Jeremiyah Love, and Price only had 113 carries for 674 yards and 11 touchdowns and six catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games in 2025. His role in the passing game could also be limited, with 15 career receptions in college for 162 yards and three touchdowns in three years. But we love his potential role, and the offense in Seattle should still be run-heavy even with Walker gone and Charbonnet out. The price for Price is Round 5 in seasonal leagues, and he's a first-round selection in rookie-only drafts for Dynasty leagues. In those formats, Price should be the second running back selected behind only Love.

Not only will Price not play Sunday, he will also be held out of the Seahawks' preseason finale against the Chiefs this Friday. That means the first time that the rookie first-rounder can see in-game action will be Week 1 against the Patriots on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Price saw limited action in Friday's joint practice with the Titans, and head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters after that practice that Price is "ramping" up his workload over the final weeks of training camp and into the regular season. The breakdown of reps in the Seahawks backfield to start the season remains up in the air with Zach Charbonnet in recovery mode from his January ACL tear and Kenneth Walker now in Kansas City. The team invested a first-round pick in Price back in April, presumably with the expectation that he'd be the lead runner while Charbonnet is sidelined, but Holani and even free-agent pickup Emanuel Wilson also may be a part of game plans for Week 1 and beyond.
Price has been mixing in with Seattle's starters at OTAs, including for a full drive during Wednesday's practice, according to Gregg Bell of The News Tribune.
The report suggests George Holani has mostly been first through the backfield rotation, with Price also getting some first-team reps, while Emanuel Wilson is largely working with backups. Bell also suggests Zach Charbonnet (knee) could be part of the team's plan as early as September or October, even though Charbonnet underwent ACL surgery in late February. Price, the 32nd overall pick this spring, remains a solid favorite to lead Seattle in carries come Week 1. However, the rookie could end up in a three-man rotation with Holani handling pass-catching work and Wilson taking some of the inside carries and/or pass-blocking snaps.

If Jeremiyah Love was Notre Dame's Darren McFadden then Price was their Felix Jones, providing consistent big plays off the bench and as a kick returner. Price is not quite as athletic at 5-foot-11, 203 pounds as Jones was out of Arkansas, but the general theme of big plays off the bench is the deal with Price. The unclear early-season availability of Zach Charbonnet (ACL) gives room for Price to make an immediate impact, and upon Charbonnet's eventual return a long-term workload split can be expected between him and Price not unlike the split between Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker previously. Price also might displace Rashid Shaheed from the kick return unit after returning three of his 22 collegiate kick returns for touchdowns (36.1 yards per return).
