Jets' Jamaal Pritchett: Signs futures deal with Gang Green
Rotowire
The Jets signed Pritchett to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Pritchett signed with the Jets in late April after not being selected by a team during the 2025 NFL Draft. The South Alabama product failed to make the Jets' 53-man roster at the end of training camp but opted to stick around with New York on the practice squad. Pritchett wasn't elevated to the active roster during the regular season, but he'll be a part of the Jets' offseason activities and be eligible to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp, where he'll look to impress the coaching staff enough to earn a spot on the active roster for 2026.

Jamaal Pritchett: Earns practice-squad role
Rotowire
Pritchett signed with the Jets' practice squad Wednesday.
Pritchett caught seven of 15 targets for 70 yards through three preseason games. An undrafted rookie out of South Alabama, Pritchett also worked as the team's primary punt returner during the preseason with nine returns for 103 yards (11.4 YPR), including a 41-yard return. Xavier Gipson (shoulder) is expected to be the Jets' punt returner during the regular season, so Pritchett will continue to hone his craft on the practice squad.

Jamaal Pritchett: Waived during final cuts
Rotowire
Pritchett was waived Tuesday, Randy Lange and Eric Allen of the Jets' official site report.
The Jets ultimately went with Xavier Gipson (shoulder) over Pritchett on their 53-man roster, though Pritchett will likely land with the team's practice squad if he passes through waivers unclaimed. Pritchett showed shiftiness as a receiver in preseason and can also contribute on special teams as a return man.

Jets' Jamaal Pritchett: Extensive return work Saturday
Rotowire
Pritchett caught one of three targets for six yards in Saturday's 30-10 preseason win over the Packers. He also had a 23-yard kickoff return and returned four punts for 33 yards.
Pritchett's lone catch didn't come until the fourth quarter, but he saw extensive work as a return man on special teams. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound undrafted rookie out of South Alabama has an overlapping skill set with Xavier Gipson (shoulder) as an undersized wide receiver with special teams upside in the return game. The Jets are likely to keep either Gipson or Pritchett on the 53-man roster, with Gipson's injury opening the door for Pritchett to continue improving his case for a spot after he caught the coaching staff's eye with a strong training camp.
