Styles may have picked up the injury during the Commanders' Week 4 loss to the Colts in London, when he logged eight tackles (four solo) while failing to play more than 80 percent of the team's defensive snaps for the first time this season. The rookie first-rounder will have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation and avoid an injury designation for Sunday's NFC East tilt against the Giants.

Styles recorded five tackles (four solo) and two passes defensed, including one interception, as well as a forced fumble in the Commanders' 33-31 win over the Seahawks on Sunday.
Styles and fellow linebacker Kain Medrano combine for two interceptions in Sunday's contest. Styles caught the first pick in the third quarter, intercepting Sam Darnold on first down at the Seahawks' 43-yard line. The linebacker also played all 67 defensive snaps for the Commanders in the close win.

The Commanders selected Styles in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, seventh overall.
Styles (6-foot-5, 244 pounds) is a remarkable athlete even by Ohio State standards, boasting a frame massive by linebacker standards yet the easy, gliding athleticism of a cornerback (4.46-second 40-yard dash, 43.5-inch vertical jump). He might be a slight tweener in that he looks like a brute yet plays a game closer to a finesse style type, but there is almost certainly plenty of ways Styles can help the Washington defense. Styles has a history of playing both safety and linebacker, which highlights his rare upside in coverage especially. The versatile defender can probably offer the Commanders quality reps from linebacker, rover and even nickel corner spots.
