Fantasy News

  • 49ers' Dominick Puni: Cleared to play vs. Seattle

Puni (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Saturday's NFC divisional-round game against the Seahawks. Puni opened the week with back-to-back limited practices due to an ankle injury. He avoided an injury designation for the divisional round after logging a full practice Thursday, and he should start at right guard Saturday.

  • 49ers' Dominick Puni: Limited in practice

Puni (ankle) was a limited participant in San Francisco's practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Puni has been limited in each of the team's first two practice sessions to open the week. If the 25-year-old ends up being unable to play in Saturday's divisional-round matchup versus the Seahawks, Connor Colby would likely get the start at right guard in his place.

  • 49ers' Dominick Puni: Ready to face Seahawks

Puni (knee) does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Puni practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday and Thursday before logging a full session Friday. He'll be ready to suit up and should start at right guard in Week 1 against Seattle.

  • 49ers' Dominick Puni: Limited practice Wednesday

Puni (knee) was a limited participant at the 49ers' practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Puni is dealing with a knee injury that he suffered Aug. 16, but his ability to practice in any capacity Wednesday is a good sign for his chances to play in Week 1. The 25-year-old will have two more chances to log a full practice prior to Sunday's regular-season opener in Seattle. If he can't go, Connor Colby and Drew Moss are both candidates to draw the start at right guard versus the Seahawks.

  • 49ers' Dominick Puni: Good to go against Buffalo

Puni (shoulder) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Bills. Puni underwent an MRI for a shoulder injury he likely picked up in Week 12 against the Packers. The injury doesn't appear to be overly concerning, and after logging a full practice Friday, Puni is set to start at right guard Sunday.

  • 49ers' Dominick Puni: Locked in as starting RG

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that it would be difficult to take away the starting right guard spot from Puni as the regular season approaches, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Puni was selected by San Francisco in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The rookie out of Kansas is currently slated as the No. 3 right guard on the 49ers' unofficial depth chart behind Spencer Burford and Jon Feliciano. However, with the endorsement of Shanahan, it appears the starting job is Puni's to lose.
