Pitsenberger was one of three running backs that the Patriots hosted for a tryout Friday. The undrafted rookie out of Yale spent the offseason with the Texans before reaching an injury settlement with the team during training camp in late August.

Pitsenberger (ankle) reached an injury settlement with the Texans on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The running back was placed on injured reserve Aug. 15 after suffering an ankle injury in a preseason loss to the Chargers. Now that Pitsenberger has reached a settlement with Houston, he has a chance to play in 2026. Wilson reported that the Yale product is dealing with a "three-week injury."

The Texans placed Pitsenberger (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday.
Pitsenberger suffered an ankle injury in Friday's preseason loss to the Chargers. The running back was set to be sidelined for at least a few weeks but will now miss the entirety of the 2026 season. The only way Pitsenberger could play in 2026 is if he is waived with an injury settlement.
