The Bengals signed Hudson off the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday.
Hudson was elevated from the practice squad for two of the Bengals' first three games of the regular season, accumulating three catches on as many targets for 17 yards. He'll now be a part of the team's 53-man roster moving forward and will contribute mostly on special teams and in a depth role on offense behind fellow tight ends Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Erick All.

Hudson played in 15 games for Cincinnati during the 2025 campaign, posting a 19-168-2 receiving line that was a near carbon copy of his 19-154-1 line from 2024, though he saw action in just 11 regular-season contests during that 2024 campaign. His past two seasons have paled in comparison to his 2023 campaign when he recorded 39 catches on 50 targets for 352 yards a touchdown across 12 regular-season games, but the Bengals value his contributions enough to keep in the fold for at least another season. Noah Fant has replaced Gesicki as the Bengals' top pass-catching option at tight end, while Drew Sample (54 percent snap share in Week 8) continues to see ample playing time at the position thanks to his blocking skills. Hudson has shown strong receiving skills on a per-snap basis during his career, but unless he cuts further into Fant's opportunities, he'll remain off the radar in most fantasy leagues.

Hudson opened the week as a limited practice participant Wednesday, so his full participation in Thursday's session seems to indicate he is progressing through the league's five-step concussion protocol.
