  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Won't practice, day-to-day

Waddle (knee) won't practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. Head coach Mike McDaniel, who relayed Monday that the knee injury Waddle sustained during Week 15 action is "not major, not surgery-related, referred to the wideout as day-to-day Wednesday. McDaniel added that he's hopeful Waddle could be potentially available this weekend, but at this time the pass-catcher's status for Sunday's game against the 49ers is TBD. If Waddle ends up sidelined in Week 16, Malik Washington would step into an expanded WR role alongside Tyreek Hill.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Avoids long-term injury

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that the knee injury Waddle sustained during the team's Week 15 loss to the Texans is "not major, not surgery-related," David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle's status appears murky for Miami's upcoming matchup against the 49ers on Sunday, but it at least appears he's avoided a more severe outcome. Tyreek Hill remains available for the Dolphins, and if Waddle can't go Week 16, rookie sixth-round pick Malik Washington would be in a solid position to build upon the career-best 5-52-0 receiving line that he logged versus Houston. Further clarity on Waddle's status could arrive with Wednesday's first official injury report of Week 16.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Hurts knee Sunday

Waddle exited Sunday's game against the Texans after sustaining a knee injury. Prior to his departure, Waddle didn't catch either of his targets. In his absence, Malik Washington and Grant DuBose are candidates to see added WR targets alongside Tyreek Hill.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Sleeper WRs

Waddle has stepped up in the past three games, and it's time to consider him a potential starter in all leagues again. He scored at least 20.9 PPR points in two of his past three games, and he has two games over that span with at least nine targets. The Texans are No. 6 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and nine receivers have scored at least 12.8 PPR points against Houston in the past five games. Waddle, who is from Houston, has faced the Texans twice in his career and scored at least 13.5 PPR points in each outing.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Cleared to play Sunday

Waddle (hamstring) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Texans after being limited in practice Friday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle also was deemed limited Wednesday and Thursday, but the wideout nonetheless was cleared to face Houston after maintaining that level of activity Friday. Waddle thus is slated to remain a key pass-catching target for QB Tua Tagovailoa in Week 15 along with fellow WR Tyreek Hill, TE Jonnu Smith and RB De'Von Achane. In Miami's Week 14 overtime win over the Jets, Waddle caught nine of his season-high 12 targets for 99 yards.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Stays limited in practice

Waddle (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Though fellow wideout Tyreek Hill (wrist) cleared up any concern about his availability for Sunday's game in Houston by practicing fully Thursday, Waddle's status warrants closer attention on the heels of consecutive limited practices to begin Week 15 prep. If Waddle is able to put in a full practice Friday, he'll likely avoid taking a designation into the Dolphins' matchup with the Texans.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Limited by hamstring issue

Waddle was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Waddle was on the field for 82 percent of Miami's snaps on offense in this past Sunday's 32-26 overtime win over the Jets, finishing with nine catches for 99 yards on 12 targets while adding a two-point conversion. He didn't appear to show any sign of injury in the Week 14 win, but his status now warrants monitoring heading into this Sunday's game against the Texans. If Waddle is able to continue practicing in some fashion Thursday and Friday, he should still be in good shape to play this weekend.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Nine catches in OT win

Waddle caught nine of 12 targets for 99 yards in Sunday's 32-26 overtime win over the Jets. He also caught a two-point conversion. Waddle caught the game-tying two-point conversion with 9:04 left in the fourth quarter, and Miami tied the game again with a field goal in the final seconds before winning it in overtime. The Dolphins' passing game has heated up heading into a Week 15 trip to Houston. Tua Tagovailoa has topped 300 passing yards in each of his last three starts, with Waddle accounting for 296 receiving yards and a touchdown over that span.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Sees downturn in Thursday's loss

Waddle brought in all four targets for 53 yards in the Dolphins' 30-17 loss to the Packers on Thursday. He also caught a two-point conversion pass. Four days after furnishing a season-best 8-144-1 line against the Patriots, Waddle came back down to earth but still turned in a serviceable performance. Waddle also managed to generate a scoring catch for the second straight game when he brought in a two-point conversion pass following De'Von Achane's third-quarter touchdown reception. The 2021 first-round pick now has at least four catches in five of the last six games, affording him a solid floor heading into a Week 14 home matchup against the Jets on Sunday, Dec. 8.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Sit

Waddle had the breakout game we've been waiting for in Week 12 against New England with 28.4 PPR points, which was the first time he scored double digits in PPR since Week 1. But now I expect him to struggle again in Week 13 at the Packers, who are No. 7 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Green Bay has allowed just two touchdowns to receivers in the past five games, and the weather for this game isn't ideal for the Dolphins with the temperature in the 20s. Tyreek Hill remains a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues, but I would only start Waddle in three-receiver leagues in Week 13.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Season-best numbers in big win

Waddle brought in eight of nine targets for 144 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 34-15 win over the Patriots on Sunday. Waddle's long-awaited breakout performance was a sight to behold, with the previously struggling wideout posting season highs in receptions, receiving yards and targets. The 2021 first-round pick consistently gained significant yardage on his catches, and he recorded his second touchdown of the campaign on a 23-yard grab late in the third quarter. Waddle's production could still remain hard to trust from week to week given this year's inconsistencies, but he should remain heavily involved in a Week 13 Thanksgiving Night road showdown against the Packers.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Sit

I keep hoping that if I continue to list Waddle as a sit receiver that he'll snap out of his slump to spite me, but we've had no such luck. He comes into Week 12 having scored 8.6 PPR points or less in nine games in a row, and he only has one touchdown all season. Jonnu Smith has passed Waddle as the No. 2 receiving option for the Dolphins behind Tyreek Hill, and Waddle has three games in his past five outings with three targets or less. At this point he's only worth using as a No. 3 receiver in deep leagues in Week 12.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Two grabs in Week 11 win

Waddle secured two of three targets for 37 yards in the Dolphins' 34-19 win over the Raiders on Sunday. Waddle recorded double-digit gains on both his catches, but he was once again very modestly involved. The 2021 first-round pick hasn't topped 57 receiving yards since Week 1 despite being healthy and holding down his usual No. 2 receiver role, but he'll have a fresh opportunity to bounce back against a vulnerable Patriots defense at home in Week 12.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Sit

Waddle once again had a down game in Week 10 at the Rams with 8.6 PPR points, and he has not reached 9.0 PPR points since Week 1. Tua Tagovailoa is leaning heavily on De'Von Achane in the passing game, and the emergence of Jonnu Smith has also been a problem for Waddle. He might need Tyreek Hill to sit at some point with his wrist injury to save his Fantasy value, but right now, Waddle is only worth using as a low-end starter in three-receiver leagues.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Paces pass catches in win

Waddle brought in three of six targets for 57 yards and rushed once for minus-1 yard in the Dolphins' 23-15 win over the Rams on Monday night. Waddle tied Jonnu Smith for the team lead in receptions while setting the pace in both receiving yards and targets. The fourth-year pro's yardage tally was his second highest of the season, with his 109-yard effort in Week 1 the only one to eclipse it. Waddle now has six targets in two of Tua Tagovailoa's first three games back from his IR stint, giving the wideout some momentum and an optimistic outlook heading into a Week 11 home matchup against the Raiders.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Sit

Waddle had a wacky stat line in Week 9 at Buffalo with two catches for minus-4 yards and a touchdown on two targets. He didn't get a target until 2:34 remained in the fourth quarter, and he now has eight targets for six catches, 41 yards and a touchdown in two games since Tua Tagovailoa returned from his four-game absence with a concussion. Waddle hasn't scored more than 8.6 PPR points since Week 1, and the Dolphins are relying on Tyreek Hill and De'Von Achane more than Waddle in the passing game. I hope he breaks out of his slump in Week 10 against the Rams, who are No. 10 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, but I would only start Waddle in three-receiver leagues until he starts producing on a higher level consistently.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Stays quiet in Tua's return

Waddle caught four of six targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Cardinals. Waddle's fantasy managers had high hopes for a bounce back in Tua Tagovailoa's (concussion) return, but Waddle put forth yet another subpar outing as the Dolphins fell to 2-5. After posting 109 receiving yards in Week 1 against the Jaguars, Waddle hasn't exceeded 46 yards in any subsequent game. He'll try to snap that unsavory streak in a Week 9 road game against the Bills.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Nonfactor in Week 7 loss

Waddle secured one of two targets for 11 yards during Miami's 16-10 loss to the Colts on Sunday. Waddle and Tyreek Hill combined for just two catches and 19 yards on four targets. Coming off a bye, the Dolphins' offense turned in yet another miserable performance despite facing off against a vulnerable Colts secondary, with the mid-game departure of Tyler Huntley (shoulder) only compounding the issues for Miami's passing game. Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) will be eligible to return from IR as early as Week 8 against the Cardinals, but it's unclear when Miami anticipates the franchise quarterback retaking the field. If one of Huntley, Tim Boyle or Skylar Thompson (ribs) is again under center versus Arizona, it will be difficult to trust any of the Dolphins' pass catchers for fantasy purposes.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Team-high yardage total in loss

Waddle secured four of six targets for 36 yards in the Dolphins' 31-12 loss to the Titans on Monday night. Miami's offense ironically got off on a very good foot with 30 yards over its first two plays, and Waddle accounted for 14 of those on the Dolphins' first play from scrimmage. However, much like the team as a whole, it would go on to be a quiet and largely unproductive night for Waddle, who did record an 18-yard grab in the fourth quarter but gained just four yards on his other two catches. Like fellow wideout Tyreek Hill, Waddle doesn't figure to come close to flashing his true potential while working with either Tyler Huntley or Skylar Thompson (ribs) as his quarterback, and he'll face a pair of talented Patriots cornerbacks in a Week 5 road matchup.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Sit

In his first game without Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) this season in Week 3 at Seattle, Waddle had four catches for 26 yards on five targets. It will be tough to trust Waddle in all leagues without Tagovailoa, but hopefully whoever starts at quarterback for the Dolphins in Week 4 can help Waddle and Tyreek Hill show signs of life. I'm still going to trust Hill as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues, but I'm sitting Waddle until he does something of significance with a backup quarterback.
