  • Javian Hawkins: Waived by L.A.

The Rams waived Hawkins on Wednesday. Hawkins spent time with the Falcons, Titans and Rams practice squads during his inaugural professional campaign in 2021. The 5-foot-8 speedster posted 2,347 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns over his final 21 collegiate games at Louisville.

  • Rams' Javian Hawkins: Signs new contract

Hawkins signed a reserve/future deal with the Rams on Tuesday. Hawkins joined the Rams' practice squad after short stints with the Titans and Falcons, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2021 out of Louisville. He was elevated to the active roster for Week 14 against the Cardinals, but he never saw the field. With Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson the only running backs under contract next season for the Rams, Hawkins could land a bigger role in 2022.

Hawkins was restored to the Rams' practice squad from the practice squad COVID-19 list Tuesday. Hawkins was placed on the COVID list last Wednesday, but he was able to return Tuesday. • Javian Hawkins: Enters COVID protocols

Hawkins was placed on the Rams' practice squad COVID-19 list Wednesday. Hawkins was picked up by the Rams on Sept. 20 but has yet to appear in a game for them. Now that he's been placed on the COVID list, he'll have to clear protocols before getting back to trying to earn a shot with the active roster.

  • Javian Hawkins: Back to practice squad

Hawkins has reverted back to the Cardinals' practice squad, per the NFL's transaction log. Hawkins was active for Arizona's loss to the Rams on Monday Night Football. He will now wait for another opportunity to get to the 53-man roster while working with the practice squad.

  • Javian Hawkins: Picked up by Rams' practice squad

  • Javian Hawkins: Short stint in Tennessee over

Hawkins was waived by the Titans on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports. Hawkins' best season at Louisville was in 2019 when he rushed for 1,525 yards (5.8 YPC) and nine touchdowns over 13 games, and he was impressive in 2020 with 822 yards (6.2 YPC) and seven scores as well. However, the 21-year-old is undersized, measuring in at 5-foot-8, 183 pounds. He could end up filling a role on Tennessee's practice squad.

  • Titans' Javian Hawkins: Joining Tennessee

Hawkins is signing with the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Hawkins has attracted an unusual amount of fantasy attention for an undrafted rookie, in part because the team he initially signed with (the Falcons) is among the league's weakest in the backfield. It isn't a great sign that the Louisville product couldn't even make it to the end of the preseason in Atlanta before getting cut, but the silver lining is that he'll now have more time to practice with his new team, hoping to make his case for a back-end roster spot (or, more likely, a job on the practice squad).

  • Javian Hawkins: Trimmed from roster

Hawkins has been let go by the Falcons. The UDFA out of Louisville had been looking to secure a depth role in the team's backfield but was among the players waived by the Falcons on Tuesday as the team moves to trim its roster to 80 players. It remains to been seen if the 5-foot-9, 182-pounder catches on elsewhere or ultimately lands on back on Atlanta's roster or practice squad.

  • Falcons' Javian Hawkins: Doesn't make much of opportunity

Hawkins had five carries for two yards and one reception for two yards in the Falcons' opening preseason game against the Titans on Friday. With each of the team's top backs rested for the game, Hawkins worked behind Caleb Huntley in the preseason opener. Their final workload evened out, though Hawkins was largely unimpressive with his opportunities. His longest rush of the game went for just two yards, and he was routinely stuffed at the line of scrimmage. Hawkins is in competition with both Huntley and D'Onta Foreman for a roster spot, though he didn't do himself a ton of favors in the preseason opener.

  • Falcons' Javian Hawkins: Coming along nicely

Hawkins has made a good first impression at training camp, Tori McElhaney of The Athletic reports. Hawkins' speed has stood out through the early days of training camp, and Kevin Knight of the Falcoholic reports that the undrafted rookie has been in the mix for first-team reps behind Mike Davis and Qadree Ollison. There remains a notable distance between Davis, Ollison and Hawkins on the depth chart, but the 5-foot-8, 183-pound Louisville product is making his case to stick around, perhaps in a change-of-pace role.
