Panthers' Jaycee Horn: Signs huge four-year contract
Horn is signing a four-year extension with the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Schefter's initial report of a four-year, $100 million contract would make Horn the leader among defensive backs in average annual value. He's played just 37 games in four seasons since the Panthers took him eighth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, but they've apparently been happy with his performance, especially in 2024 when he had career highs for games played (15), tackles (68), pass defenses (13) and sacks (2.0) en route to his first Pro Bowl nomination. Horn is 25 years old and still has a chance to cement himself as one of the league's top cornerbacks, but he'll need to stay healthy for more than a few months at a time to earn that distinction.

Panthers' Jaycee Horn: Past hip injury
Horn (hip) participated in the relay race and flag football events at the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
The fourth-year corner out of South Carolina earned his first Pro Bowl selection after a strong 2024 campaign, during which he logged 68 tackles (49 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and 13 pass defenses (including one interception) across 15 regular-season games. Horn will be in the final year of his rookie contract in 2025, and his strong performance this past season could lead to an extension during the offseason.

Panthers' Jaycee Horn: Won't face Atlanta
Horn (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
After starting the first 15 games of the season, Horn will end up missing the final two contests, finishing his 2024 campaign with 68 tackles (49 solo), including five TFLs and 2.0 sacks, and 13 pass breakups, including one interception. The No. 8 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Horn is under contract for $12.472 million next season, the final year of his rookie deal. Caleb Farley should get another start at cornerback in the Week 18 finale.

Panthers' Jaycee Horn: No practice to begin Week 18 prep
Horn (hip) didn't practice Wednesday.
Horn didn't play this past Sunday versus the Buccaneers after missing practice all week due to the hip issue. The fourth-year cornerback is still dealing with the injury, and he's uncertain to play in the Panthers' season finale Sunday versus the Falcons. Caleb Farley got his first start of the campaign and logged 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps as Horn's replacement against Tampa Bay.

Panthers' Jaycee Horn: Won't play against Bucs
Horn (hip) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Horn was unable to practice all week due to a hip injury he picked up in Week 16 against the Cardinals. It'll be the first game he's missed all season, and he'll focus his attention on being available for the regular-season finale against the Falcons. Caleb Farley will serve as the Panthers' second starting outside corner opposite Michael Jackson on Sunday due to Horn's injury.

Panthers' Jaycee Horn: Doubtful to face Tampa Bay
Horn (hip) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bucs.
Horn logged a trio of DNPs in practice this week and is unlikely to be available to face Mike Evans and the Bucs in Week 17. It will be Horn's first missed game of the season. Slot CB Chau Smith-Wade (chest/illness) has also been ruled out, so it looks like Carolina will be down to Michael Jackson, Dane Jackson and Caleb Farley at cornerback.

Panthers' Jaycee Horn: Working through hip injury
Horn (hip) was listed as a DNP on Thursday's practice report.
Horn was able to progress enough in his recovery from a groin injury to play in Week 16 against the Cardinals, during which he logged four tackles (one solo) while playing every single defensive snap. However, it appears he is now working through a hip injury, which has caused him to be sidelined for the Panthers' first two practice sessions of the week. Horn would have to practice in at least a limited capacity Friday in order to have a shot at playing against Tampa Bay on Sunday. Dane Jackson would be the top candidate to serve as the Panthers' second starting cornerback opposite Michael Jackson if Horn is unable to play.
