  • Rams' Steve Avila: Set to return to action

Avila (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's contest against the Colts, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports. Avila is slated to return to action after missing the team's last two contests due to a sprained ankle that he suffered in Week 1 against the Texans. The 26-year-old will return to his starting role at left guard versus Indianapolis in Week 4.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Won't play Week 3

Avila (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Avila sprained his ankle during the Rams' Week 1 win over the Texans. He hasn't been able to practice since and will observe Sunday's contest in street cloths. Justin Dedich started at left guard in the Rams' Week 2 victory over the Titans and will reprise that role against the Eagles due to Avila's injury.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Unable to practice

Avila (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports. Avila was deemed week-to-week on Monday by coach Sean McVay, so his inability to practice two days later doesn't come as a big surprise. He'll have two more chances to participate, but his status for Sunday's game against Philadelphia is likely in doubt.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Considered week-to-week

Rams head coach Sean McVay deemed Avila (ankle) "week-to-week" Monday, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Avila suffered a sprained ankle Week 1 against Houston and wasn't able to suit up Week 2. He's said to be making progress, but he's very iffy to return to action next Sunday against Philadelphia. If Avila can't play in that contest, Justin Dedich will likely start again at left guard.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Won't suit up Week 2

Avila (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's tilt against Tennessee. Avila's absence was expected, as he was deemed doubtful heading into the weekend after missing every practice this week. Beaux Limmer is likely to start at left guard for the Rams in Avila's stead.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Misses practice Wednesday

Avila (ankle) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports. Avila suffered a sprained ankle in the team's 14-9 win over the Texans in Week 1, and he has now opened the week of practice on the sidelines. The offensive guard will have two more chances to return to practice this week before Sunday's matchup with the Titans. If Avila does end up missing Week 2, Justin Dedich is the top candidate to start at left guard in his place.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Dealing with ankle sprain

Avila suffered a sprained ankle during Sunday's win over the Texans, Wyatt Miller of the Rams' official site reports. Avila is now considered to be week-to-week after having exited Sunday's matchup in the second quarter before returning in the fourth quarter. Head coach Sean McVay said there's a chance Avila could be ready for the team's Week 2 matchup versus the Titans and will know more about his status following Wednesday's projected workloads. If Avila ends up being unable to play, Justin Dedich will likely start at left guard in his place.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Possibly on track for IR

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Avila (knee) is a candidate for injured reserve, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Avila was diagnosed with an MCL sprain after exiting Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions, an injury that typically entails a multi-week recovery. If Avila winds up on IR, the Rams would likely turn to Jonah Jackson at left guard.

  • Rams' Steve Avila: Suffers MCL sprain

Avila sustained an MCL sprain during Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Assuming Avila ends up missing time due to the injury, Jonah Jackson would likely slide over from center to start at left guard.
