  • Ben VanSumeren: Inks practice squad deal with Kansas City

The Chiefs signed VanSumeren to the practice squad Tuesday. VanSumeren was waived by the Bills on Sunday after failing to crack the team's 53-man roster, but he'll get a new opportunity as a member of the Chiefs' practice squad. He has appeared in 21 regular-season games across three seasons with the Eagles since entering the league in May of 2023 as an undrafted free agent.

  • Bills' Ben VanSumeren: Signs deal with Buffalo

The Bills signed VanSumeren (knee) to a one-year contract Wednesday, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports. Philadelphia opted not to tender VanSumeren after his third season with the team back in March, but it didn't take long for him to get another shot with a new squad. His 2025 season ended prematurely due to him tearing his patella tendon during the opening kickoff of Week 1, but in the two years prior, his elite speed, strength and explosiveness allowed him to earn opportunities on special teams.

The Eagles placed VanSumeren (knee) on injured reserve Saturday. The injury is severe enough to warrant a stint for him on injured reserve, which means VanSumeren will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 17 against the Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 29 the earliest he can return.

VanSumeren (concussion) has been cleared to play in Sunday's Week 10 battle against Dallas, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
