  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: No catches in win

Irwin failed to haul in his only target in Sunday's 41-24 win over the Raiders. For the second straight week, Irwin played double-digit snaps on offense with Tee Higgins (quadricep) out of the lineup, but he didn't make much of a mark in the box score. Through five appearances this season, Irwin has tallied three catches for 15 yards on 10 targets.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Healthy inactive for Week 5

Irwin (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Irwin will be a healthy scratch for a third straight game. With Tee Higgins unavailable, Irwin played over 50 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps through the first two weeks. However, the undrafted product out of Stanford has been the odd man out in recent weeks.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Inactive with Higgins back

Irwin (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the Commanders. With Tee Higgins making his 2024 debut after missing the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury, Irwin is the odd man out among Cincinnati's receiver group. Irwin did little with his increased playing time against the Patriots and Chiefs in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively, reeling in just two of eight targets for 11 yards.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Reels in one catch

Irwin caught one of his six targets for five yards in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs. Irwin remained involved in Cincinnati's offense in Week 2 with teammate Tee Higgins (hamstring) sidelined for the second-straight week. Though his six targets were the second-most of any Bengals pass catcher, the veteran wideout was unable to make the most of his opportunities. With Higgins trending in a positive direction, Irwin will likely see his share of targets dwindle as the season progresses. The 28-year-old will be extremely difficult to trust when the Bengals host the Commanders in Week 3.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: One catch in Week 1

Irwin caught one of his two targets for six yards in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Patriots. With teammate Tee Higgins (hamstring) out for the contest, Irwin was on the field for 65 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps. The wideout's elevated usage, however, did not translate to much production. His two targets were behind both Ja'Marr Chase and Andrei Iosivas who both saw six targets. Going forward, Irwin will continue to be difficult to trust for fantasy purposes, assuming Higgins can return quickly from his hamstring issue. The Bengals square off against the Chiefs in Week 2.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Competing for WR3 role

Irwin is competing with Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones for the No. 3 receiver spot as the Bengals' preseason opener approaches, Geoff Hobson of the team's official site reports. While Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are entrenched as the Bengals' top two wideouts, Hobson suggests that the team could employ a committee approach behind the top duo. In addition to Irwin, Iosivas and Jones, 2024 third-rounder Jermaine Burton also should have a chance to enter the WR3 equation. On the team's initial posted unofficial depth chart, Irwin is listed behind Chase and Higgins, but that's presumably attributable to his status as a veteran. In any case, based on perceived upside and ADP, Burton and Iosivas appear to be next up on the radar of fantasy drafters in terms of Cincinnati wide receivers.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Back with Cincinnati

Irwin has agreed to a one-year deal to remain with the Bengals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The report notes that Irwin's deal with the Bengals is worth $2 million. With the 28-year-old back in the fold and Tyler Boyd a free agent, Irwin should have a chance to compete with Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones for WR snaps behind behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins (assuming he remains with Cincinnati) this coming season. In 16 regular-season games in 2023, Irwin caught 25 of his 32 targets for 316 yards and a TD.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Four grabs in loss

Irwin secured all four of his targets for 37 yards in Saturday's 34-11 loss to the Steelers. Irwin's four catches were his first receptions since Week 13. The veteran wideout saw increased playing time with Ja'Marr Chase (shoudler) sidelined, playing 41 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps Saturday. Irwin could see a similar workload in Week 17 if Chase is forced to sit out again, but he'll be difficult to trust for fantasy purposes in a matchup against the Chiefs.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Three catches in Week 11 loss

Irwin secured three of five targets for 36 yards in the Bengals' 34-20 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night. Irwin finished second in receiving yards and tied for third in receptions and targets on the night for the Bengals as he once again enjoyed an elevated role during Tee Higgins' (hamstring) second straight absence. The veteran wideout has a 5-90-1 line over that pair of contests, but he could be back to a No. 4 role if Higgins is ready to return by a Week 12 home matchup against the Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 26.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Finds end zone in loss

Irwin brought in two of four targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 30-27 loss to the Texans on Sunday. With Tee Higgins (hamstring) inactive, Irwin moved into the No. 3 receiver role and struck early, hauling in a 32-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to cap off the Bengals' opening possession. The veteran wideout had a nice chunk gain of 22 yards on his only other reception, and he once again could help fill in for his teammate if the quick turnaround for a Week 11 Thursday night division clash with the Ravens doesn't offer sufficient recovery time for Higgins to return to action.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: High volume with Higgins out

Irwin caught eight of 10 targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 34-20 win over the Cardinals. The fifth-year wideout stepped into a bigger role in the Cincy offense with Tee Higgins (ribs) out of action, and it proved to be excellent timing for Irwin as Joe Burrow had his first 300-yard performance of the season. Irwin had only one catch on one target coming into Sunday, so his volume in Week 6 against the Seahawks will be dependent on Higgins' availability.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Inactive Monday night

Irwin is inactive for Monday night's game against the Rams. With Irwin inactive, Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones are on hand to provide Week 3 WR depth behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. Through the first two games of the season, Irwin has yet to record a target.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Not targeted in Week 1

Irwin played 10 offensive snaps in Week 1 against the Browns but didn't get targeted in the loss. Irwin was still ahead of rookies Charlie Jones and Andrei Iosivas on the depth chart, as they only had one snap on offense between the two of them. Irwin's production will remain limited as long as Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are all healthy.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Fails to build on two-TD game

Irwin played 12 of the Bengals' 64 snaps on offense and finished with one catch for 12 yards on two targets in Sunday's 27-16 win over the Ravens. In his last outing Week 16 against the Patriots, Irwin registered three catches for 45 yards and two touchdowns, but his production predictably took a step back in the regular-season finale while Cincinnati had all of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd available and at full health. Heading into this weekend's rematch with the Ravens in the wild-card round of the postseason, Irwin will likely maintain a limited role as the Bengals' No. 4 wideout.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Barely used in win

Irwin had one reception on two targets for five yards in Sunday's 34-23 win over the Buccaneers. Irwin wasn't much more than an afterthought in Sunday's win against Tampa Bay, as he played 24 percent of Cincinnati's offensive snaps and was targeted just twice. The 27-year-old likely won't be very involved down the stretch unless any of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins or Tyler Boyd are forced to miss time.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Scores on flea-flicker

Irwin had two catches on two targets for 58 yards and scored a touchdown on a flea-flicker play that worked to perfection against the Browns. Both Irwin and Trent Taylor were called into action early due to injuries to Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. The Bengals might be calling Irwin's name frequently next week against the Bucs.

  • Trenton Irwin: Returns to practice squad

Irwin reverted to the Bengals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Irwin played a season-high 46 offensive snaps after being elevated for the third game in a row ahead of Sunday's win over the Steelers. As a result, the practice-squad wideout logged career highs in receptions, yards and targets while serving as the team's No. 3 receiver behind Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins, who played 54 and 52 offensive snaps, respectively. Irwin will now require a full spot on the active roster in order to continue suiting up for the Bengals this season, though it's likely he'll serve as the team's best option if star wideout Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is not available Week 12.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: First career touchdown

Irwin had three catches on four targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Steelers. By rule Irwin will revert back to the Bengals' practice squad at the start of Week 12, but it would come as a surprise if they don't add him full-time to the roster. He's proven to be a far more reliable option than teammates Mike Thomas and Trent Taylor.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Back to practice squad

Irwin reverted to the Bengals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Irwin received the bump up to the active roster with Ja'Marr Chase (hip) missing Sunday's game against the Panthers. The 26-year-old saw the third-most snaps at receiver for the team with 36, which lead to a 14-yard catch on his only target. With the Bengals headed into a bye week and Chase eligible to return Week 11 against the Steelers, Irwin may not get a chance to suit up when Cincinnati takes the field again.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Bumped up from practice squad

Irwin was elevated to the Bengals' active roster from the practice squad Monday. With Ja'Marr Chase (hip) and Stanley Morgan (hamstring) both out for Monday's game against Cleveland, Irwin will make his first appearance of the season with the Bengals. The 26-year-old has appeared in at least one game for Cincinnati every year since the 2019 season and has three receptions on seven targets for 34 yards in nine games during that span.
